Publisher's Description
Abtrusion Protector is a virus and intrusion protection software. It prevents software that hasn't been installed on the computer from running. It maintains a database of digital thumbprints of all executable files on the computer that are allowed to start. Whenever Windows tries to load a file, it first verifies that the thumbprint of the file is in the database.

My rating here goes to the whole idea, not to the software itself.
The software is designed to prevent "non-approved software" to execute on the computer. This includes checking for file modification (that a virus could cause). Whereas this can prevent viruses, an antivirus would do it much better, identifying the intruder, and other harms.
The software is shown as shareware, but there's also a "Personal edition", without network capabilities (and "different default settings") which is free for non-commercial use. Prices are "For corporate use, it is licensed at a price of USD20 per workstation. Server licenses are USD400. Volume discounts are available."
Side note: Requires an NT (4/2000/XP) Windows machine.
