Ace Translator is the worst software I have ever used. It locks up constantly and when it does decide to work the translations are worthless. The support will not even answer your concerns. You are stuck with a very expensive software that does not work.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, OR MONEY.
Per their website: Free trial version ( zip or exe) Buy Now (EUR 99.95)
100 Euros for what is essentially a skin/front end for a free service. It also uses one of the cruder translating sites.

Anyone thinking of using this for serious work should note that the translation is not only crude, but, in places, is quite incorrect and even says the opposite of the original. For example, it translates "défiance" (=mistrust, lack of confidence) by "confidence". The "chute" (drop in value) of a fund is translated as "collapse" of the fund--not quite the same thing! Of course, this is the fault of the underlying translation engines, such as Babelfish, rather than of this front end itself. Still, for using the weakest translation engines on the web, it gets only one star from me.

I doubt I can fit all my complaints in here.. First, why should I pay for a program that just uses a webpage that is already free? This program just uses http://babelfish.altavista.com . I can go there and translate without paying for shareware program. To make it even worse, this program doesn't even support all the languages offered at AltaVista's babel fish, which is the site that this program is stealing it's translations from. And because they get their translations from a website, this program is useless if you are offline. Second, the authors webpage has a "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98" logo. You aren't allowed to use that graphic unless you actually apply for it and your software tests out. Third, every time I write a review for this program (which I HAVE tested out, and I DON'T like), it somehow gets deleted. I haven't used any foul language, this isn't a personal attack, and it isn't off topic, so stop deleting my valid reviews.
