I tried v25 of recent, some real issues, flickering, screen areas going black, drag, etc untiI closed browser and reopened.. Went to last updated version of v18.x that was once part of the Extended Service Release version. Now Adobe has chosen not to even offer an ESR version. Buncha lowlifes.HOPEFULLY soon I can be rid of Flash altogether. Still a few sites left that use it.

There's a reason why I still use version 10.3.183.90 on Windows PCs.... Smooth operation. Everything after is garbage. With HTML5 taking over on more and more websites, this piece of crap will soon no longer be needed.

Should be called Crash Player. Whenever I have some sort of browser crash or lock up, its always flash related. Good to see some sites like FB are moving away from this format.

Doesn't matter how many versions of Flash Adobe might come up with claiming improvements and security, it is the single most common reason that brings down my system to it's knees, it simply sucks BIG TIME !

Unfortunately I still have to install it as many sites still use flash based videos.

If any one known the alternative please suggest.

I no more got done installing this new one today in the computer and went to Facebook and got a run error on it. Flash is a mess and it seems never to work right since its creation and probably never will.

Time to move on to something else such as HTML 5 and someone needs to wake up. This flash stuff is for the birds and a real piece of crap....

This latest version really screwed it.! Getting tired enough with adobe and oracle thinking we want Other software too during upgrades but just as bad is doing the upgrade and having it really mess things up by not working right.

Zootopia3001

Zootopia3001 reviewed v12.0.0.43 on Jan 15, 2014

Went back to version 10.3. Version 11.x miserably stuttered consistently when in full screen mode, especially at high resolution. Doubt this was fixed at all with version 12. As long as all websites still show flash media content with version 10.3 installed I'll stick with this old version and damn the so-called security risks. Most likely the real security holes come with the 11.x and 12.x versions with all the new bells and whistles added to these versions. Heck, v10.3 has a 3mb installer compared to 17mb's for v11.9. Many of the security problems with 10.3 had been addressed anyway with the one year plus worth extended support release status it received.

1 star for Adobe for not even bothering to address the stuttering problem. Any Google search will show that stuttering has been a major complaint with Flash 11 and all Adobe support tells you to do is disable hardware acceleration which doesn't even fix the problem.

Zootopia3001

Zootopia3001 reviewed v11.8.800.146 Beta on Aug 14, 2013

So far I've seen no need for anyone to update to 11.8 unless it's on a mobile device. All fixes in 11.8 so far have been for mobile, which is why Adobe is providing Extended Support Releases(security updates) for version 11.7.x.

Zootopia3001

Zootopia3001 reviewed v11.8.800.115 Beta on Jul 18, 2013

Boooo. Version 10.3 no longer being given extended support for security updates. Must update to 10.7 for extended support. Once Adobe moves on to version 11.9(unless it's version 12.x next), I'll give 11.8 a try. I did have issues(one major) back when v11.4 was out, which seem to be resolved with version 11.7.

3 1/2 stars.

i used to use flash 10.3 for the longest time and i always test new versions when theyre not in beta. the 11.8 stable version seems to work just as good if not better than 10.3 so if you guys have been thinking of/wanting to upgrade go ahead and give this version a try. working fine for me in google chrome and firefox on all my favorites that used to lag with 11.7 as compared to 10.3. have fun

I have nothing else to say. Everybody else said it before me.

Zootopia3001

Zootopia3001 reviewed v11.6.602.168 on Feb 13, 2013

Seems to me Adobe has been opening up more security holes with the addition of all the new bells and whistles since version 11.2. I mean, come on, look at the size increase since version 11.2. I've gone back to Flash 11.2, and then deleted ALL the unnecessary Flash files, including most all in the Documents and Settings folder and all the ones in the System32 folder. Everything else is now write protected(after Flash settings made, including custom settings made in the mms.cfg file). Any new files created in the Doc & Settings folder(mainly Flash cookies) are being deleted with CCleaner.

BTW, Flash 11.5 was causing notable crash problems in Firefox for me, so don't know if this new 11.6 version resolves it, since I won't be trying it.

2 stars for this version and probably all future versions, 4 stars for version 11.2

Bala7 reviewed v11.6.602.105 Beta on Dec 8, 2012

Something else is going on here with all the 1&2 stars. Although I'm no lover of flash principally due to Adobe's ambivalence I can't help wondering if your systems are not corrupt in some way.

At the very least: are you uninstalling using Adobe's official flash uninstaller, reboot, and then re-installing latest version.

I'm having non of the problems discussed below.
Tested on several dozen Win7 x86 x64 systems.

OAKsider

OAKsider reviewed v11.5.502.110 on Dec 4, 2012

Adobe Flash has had a critical bug for months, effecting the latest Windows and Firefox builds: It does not remember your volume setting. This is due to Protected Mode, and it can be disabled. Be sure to re-enable when/if this bug is ever fixed sometime next year. (Thanks to PaintShopPro -- from Adobe Bugbase at https://bugbase.adobe.co...vent=bug&id=3210127 -- for bringing attention to this fix.)

" I managed to work around this bug by disabling protected mode. This way flash doesn't create a separate entry in the volume mixer and behaves like before 11.3. For instructions on how to do that, look at the end of this page: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 "

tl;dr: If your volume keeps resetting, turn off Protected Mode by editing Flash's "mms.cfg" to add the line "ProtectedMode=0".

SineWave

SineWave reviewed v11.3.300.257 on Jun 12, 2012

I was having problems with fullscreening and videos in general, and crashes with all v11 Flash players, so I reverted to v10 for Firefox. It works quite good. No crashes anywhere in sight and everything works as it's supposed to. I use it with Firefox 3.6.28. Rock solid combination. So stable that I feel bored a little. :) 3 stars for the effort... but I don't get it what they're doing there at Adobe. They have completely incompetent programmers or management. It's usually the management to blame.

DO NOT UPDATE.

While I don't like giving such bad reviews, this update simply doesn't work.

Doesn't work with Firefox 12,13 or 15
Flash appears blank on all sites (inc Youtube and Adobe test page)

I've removed and installed the earlier 11,2,202,235 - which works fine

For some reason, the newest build has "Adobe Flash Player 11 (Incubator Build)" written across the screen, and I'm not sure why that is. Flash is still working fine, but on some pages, I notice a bit of a delay, when the content is trying to load.

Latest version, 11, works very poor in Palemoon 6.0.2 or 7.0.1. Many sites hang the computer completely. I had to uninstall flash for non-IE and install the old 10.3 instead. Now it works again. Rate should be minus 1 trillion for version 11 on non IE.
