FWIW, When attempting to download the Adobe Soundbooth CS3 from this website, I read that the HTML was being downloaded, the message lasted for no more than 5 seconds. Then, for some unknown reason, IE7 completly shut down, just "gone" "poof" and not a warning or message about crashing or needing to shut down at all.

Also, I had at that time, several tabs going, the only page for any download was for this program. The other 2 pages were related to reading about Microsofts "Silverlight".

BTW, this is certainly NOT "freeware" at all.

This is confusing.

The true spirit of Cool Edit lives on in ADOBE AUDITION. So what is this newbie meant to be???

This shouldn't be listed as Freeware because of the expiry. It's a beta of a commercial program.

This is from the same group that created Cool Edit. It appears to be a later version. The system requirements are quite high compared to the others. One needs a P4 to run it. Audacity will work on a P3.

Hey DudeBoyz, it's pretty clear that the beta is free, but expires. Grow up.

This is an excellent tool for the intended audience. It's all about creating background tunes for video, and fast. It's not Audition, or Audacity, and doesn't pretend to be. This is an audio toolbox for people that deal with video, and a very good one.

This ain't free - it's gonna cost $199 when it is released.

You want Free? Audacity is decent. You can get Sound Forge Audio Studio 8 for $69 retail, or less online, and that should give you a ton of audio goodness for much less.
