Not the ultimate Remote Admin Software... but it is very useful.

- Xalpharis: Check your PC for something else.

- theheff: Read the name Advanced REMOTE INFO!!!
If you have an Anti Virus with unwanted programs protection enabled it will alert you about most remote management software.

- -Lord- ...you know... that's what a firewall is supposed to do.

After I installed this program, it deleted almost every single file I had with the word 'bottle' in the filename. I'm not sure why.

After I uninstalled it, I cried in the shower.

It was a shower of sulphuric ACID.

this program is great for users in guantonimo bay.
first of all, the End User Agreement reminds me of something the NSA crafted up.
Getting through that part Microsoft defender came up with somthing about this program but i overrode the warning anyway.
after installing it, my start button had vanished. i still had a start bar just no button. after about about 5 hours of repairs to the system i got it back up and going only to discover my network drivers were removed. finally i got fed up and just did a fresh install of xp . which really sucked because i lost all my information.
but yeah if you could get this installed onto your unwitty enemies machine you would be 100% satisfied with the results. however due to the description discrepancies i must give it a low rating.

0.6.5.0 triggered McAfee Virus Scan for me... detected as "RemAdm-PSKill" every time you launch the program. The program creates this file in a temp directory under local settings for the user (which is invisible). Looks extremely suspicious.

Doesn't work on XP machines with the firewall enabled... and probably not any ANY machine with a built in firewall enabled.

This program crashed my win2k3-sp1 server when I tried to run it against another IIS6.0 web server remotely. Lots of promise though, and a nice alternative to Everest Pro if you can't afford it. (note: this ran against my localhost fine). If you feel ambitious, make it work against a Linux box too. Then you would be da man!

Have to give it a 2 course its not even working for me
Now with the new hotfix, i dont get any errors, but neither any info on the computer on my LAN, but i changed the rating to 3 for quick respond from the developer

I give it a 3 coz the app does not have proper thread handling. User cannot cancel process and run more than 3 PCs, as well as PC that have firewall enabled will freezed up.

Good job overall.

@Big Bopper: Please contact me via mail (mail at masterbootrecord.de)

@ainvar: Have you tried the command line switch /language="English" ?

Ainvar

Ainvar reviewed v0.6.3.8 Beta on Oct 17, 2004

Software is great but the language is mostly in german for the program itself. The results are posted in english but everything else is mostly german. So it is not very usable for me since I am not fluent in german (maybe this would be a good time to learn!)

Big Bopper

Big Bopper reviewed v0.6.3.8 Beta on Oct 17, 2004

After receiving an updated DB file, I was able to open the program. Based on dialog with the developer, I was able to resolve the language issue. The program truely has promise. It's a fabulous tool for networks. There are a few bugs in it at this time, but, again, it has promise. Export feature doesn't export the software list; No way to cancel routines that get hung up; Haven't figured out what the "Send" button does yet. Anxious to see what develops. I got say....the developer is very open to comments, suggestions, critical issues, etc. Many are so defensive. Keep up the good work.

scriptee reviewed v0.6.3.7 Beta on Aug 16, 2004

Pretty good. I will definately be using it once it gets to a point where it doesnt freeze up without any feedback; this happens almost every time I use it to get the info of a machine on our network (Very annoying).

I think it does kinda shove a lot of stuff onto one screen (teb) and I think a bit of a customised interface would be nice. Can live withough it though :).

Why is the screenshot module not included? I think it should come with the main package.

I have set it to run with a specific user, but it definately doesnt work for me!

richieb002 reviewed v0.6.3.6 Beta on Jul 1, 2004

This has quite a lot of good information all in one place. Pretty impressive for BETA (in capitals for a reason) freeware. The language on first run didn't fully swith to English but setting it on the optionen tab again fixed that.
This looks pretty promising. Watch out Hyena and Dameware!

MZirngibl

MZirngibl reviewed v0.6.3.6 Beta on Jun 30, 2004

Have you contacted the developer to give him a chance to help him fix your problems? No. So how should these problems ever be fixed? It works like a charm for 50000 other users...

aventure

aventure reviewed v0.6.3.6 Beta on Jun 30, 2004

Uninstalled in 5 minutes flat. 90% of the language is German when language is selected, program tends to freeze/crash extremely easily (loading it for one).

... another good remote tool for network admins !

;-)

kerryg

kerryg reviewed v0.6.3.5 Beta on Jun 21, 2004

While still a bit buggy, this is the start to an amazing administration tool. An admin can quickly look at a users setup, start/stop processes, inventory software and hardware, and even get a screenshot of the user's machine. Look for this to become a valuable addition to any admin's toolkit.

DJInsomniac

DJInsomniac reviewed v0.6.3.5 Beta on Jun 20, 2004

This looks like a great product, but I choose to install it in English, and it still came up as German or whatever it is.

Maverick_16

Maverick_16 reviewed v0.6.3.1 Beta on Feb 19, 2004

GREAT work Matthias! this is a must have tool for any admin :)
Now guys, take it easy (e.g. CUT IT OUT): it's normal that some of this forum's users can rate/review admin tools and some can rate/review America's Army (the game, that is, PLEASE). if you can do both, that's great. But imo, great programers like Mr. Zirngibl should not loose credit because of some who don't have the background about what this piece of FINE programming is all about. just CUT IT OUT and if you know what's this tools is for, GET IT, it's a must, does the job in the best possible way with lots of nifty extras.

Hey guys,

obviously a few of you don't understand the purpose of this program. I'm working as a network specialist at a large company and this program provides a valuable service for me and my colleagues. And best of all, it's free !

The program seems to have an update notification, that is why some firewalls and virus detection software reports it containing spyware/virus/whatever, which is not true. If your download doesn't install correctly, it might have been corrupted during downloading to your machine.

Come on guys, he's doing this for free as a hobby, don't screw the effort by just submitting a bad rating, give it a try !

I am sorry i ment to say Privacy Keyboard by the same company ( Raytown ) detects it.
Why? well it does have a screenshot doesn't it?
and since when did programs used by socalled system admins not include monitoring software like keyloggers, screen capture on remote machines ect?

No matter how you look at it, it becomes spyware. Any remote snooping software is spyware in my book.

It has no keylogger included. It's a tool for system admins. So I don't understand why this tool (Anti-Keylogger) it reports as a keylogger. I will contact the developer. I hope they fix this in the next version.

why is it possible to just take screenshots from a remote pc in the network ? does anyone know how to fix this security hole ?

Maverick_16

Maverick_16 reviewed v0.6.2.6 Beta on Aug 11, 2003

Well, it worked and done what it says it can do (so far). My german is not to the level of my IT thinking... but I was able to play with it. Good start for a potentially very useful ra/admin util. Keep the good work up (tscherno/matthias?) and listen to the reviewers, even if what they say doesn't make sense sometime. Some users/testers should know that as a ra/admin tool, the system's firewall, anti-vi and the like should be put aware of the presence of such a tool, otherwise one can only assume that something would go wrong (lots of warnings:). Anyway... never test on a production box.
