Not sure who someguy on here is writing false details about Antnnea.

This is a wonderfull program. I was on the hunt some years ago for a simple web design program that was easy to use and found Antenna 2.7 and have been using it ever since. Now with the upcoming 3.5 the program is amazing.

This is by far one of the easiest pieces of software to design a professional website I have ever used and will never use another now I have got Antenna.

The backup forum support is second to none. The forum is full of only helpfull tips and tricks as well the ability of people going the extra mile to help out.
The forum is one of the most active on the net, not only do the Antenna users share their experiences so do the maker of Antenna (Stormdance).

I personally recommend Antenna to anyone. Take if for the 16 day test drive and see just how easy it is to use.

If you want to see some sites designed with Antenna here is a few links

http://www.grahamscomputers.summerland.net.au
http://www.waggachurchofchrist.org.au
http://www.buyorrentsolutions.com.au/
http://www.tasteofvietnam.com.au

These are just a couple I have designed and there is many other Antenna users that could post links to their sites as well just to show the professional results it can do.

A bit thumbs up to stormdance.

Well done on a professional package.

I have been using Antenna for years now (after using GoLive for years before that). Antenna is a wonderful piece of software, a very short learning curve and the customer support is great. The user forum is very helpful too with lots of creative folks around. Now with this new lightbox feature things get even easier then they already were. So I am a happy camper, not affiliated to the makers of the program, just a happy customer :)

So if the makers of Antenna are reading these reviews as well: congratulations on the new version. Love it!

Just a comment to "some guy" and his statement that the reviews are written by
the programmers of the software.
Sorry but you are wrong. I am simply a user who likes a piece of software and wants to encourage others to use it so that it is developed even more.
Check your facts before making accusations
I have used the software now for 4 years for my club and like it a lot.

I needed to build a site for my local swimming club. I had a copy of Dreamweaver and Frontpage. Played with both and found them overblown and with a steep learning curve. Then I looked at others, some shareware others professional but they all seemed to be based on templates. If you dont like their templates, tough. If you want to do something creative they cant do it. Then I found Antenna. At first it seemed difficult. Then I went back to it. Read the tutorials and the forum and got into it. Now Im hooked. It is simply brilliant , easy to use and very capable. Once you get the hang of layers it all falls into place and becomes a powerful tool. Dont expect templates you simply dont need them as its easy to make your own. Although there are now some available.
It really is WYSISWYG and a bargain at three times the price.
Its not a simple template driven programme but a proper fully featured web design tool to compete with Frontpage and Dreamweaver

Cons: None really. Like all capable software, and this is very capable you need to read the instructions look at the videos and persevere a bit at the start but once you get into it you will never look back.
The user forum is very active and helpfull. To top it all the software writer actually responds and answers your questions no matter how simple. You dont get that from Microsoft. Dont ignore it, give it a try and persevere you wont be disappointed.
The average person wants to be able to build professional looking web sites without a degree in html. Many people who review this type of software were brought up in the age of html and tables and look down their noses at anything new. Things have moved on.

this idea is great, ever since css the idea of stepping away from tables is great, and this program seems to accomplish that. however, i was viewing the publisher homepage (what better way to see how effectively it can be used than to view the creators web site) upon viewing the source, all the style is written inline. so that kind of defeats the purpose of css and centralizing style, especially if your page has a common flow. i personally have not used this so correct me of i am wrong about this program not automatically creating external css files, but from the looks of stormdance.net it does not appear as though this program does that. so in conclusion this software seems great for the novice looking for quick/slick web designs, but for hardcore css enthusiasts and specifically high traffic sites, a little(maybe a lot) of recoding to centralize the style will have to be taken.

btw i checked the nvu site and nvu is technically not even an acronym, and only stands for 2 words "new view" :P

If version 2.52 sucks comparing to NVU you are really comparing two totally different programms. NVU is not even coming close to the workflow and design features of antenna. I like to build great looking websites in NO TIME, who sucks here?

Are you a designer and want to avoid writing code
Use Antenna.

Antenna is a powerful, easy to use program that offers a number of design options that few of the more pedestrian "biggies" can boast - at least the last time I checked!
I feel that Antenna is moving away from the ball and chain of website designers who feel the need to be adle to rewrite their code in notepad and facilitates the designer who wants a good looking, functional site with the minimum of fuss.
I work for money - anything that wastes my time is hurting me.
The outputted code is fully compatible with HTML 4.0 (Transitional)Specification W3C Recommendation, revised on 24-Apr-1998 as checked by anybrowser.com and I really like this program.
Stop reading - download it and get started!

Yes I would tend to agree with daveboy on the issue of non compliance with conventional programming techniques. And on the cleanliness of the resultant documents' code, which is largely due to the editor not using DHTML methods for building the source code, but rather string substitutions in global templates in the application. There has been indicated possible changes in the handling of these templates as I indicated in a previous thread. Bear in mind people that you haven's paid half a grand for this application, and big price tags don't guarantee ideal operation in the wild. MS Front PAge has quirks of its own especially in respect to bot generated code. Give Julian specific feedback, not the generic "This app sucks" type of commentary I have seen. Leave the kind of constructive criticisms you would want to see if it were you that was the programmer of this application. Julian I believe the grievance a lot of users are really complaining about is lack of linear layout mode, you are using excusively absolute positioning. From the standpoint f attempting to author additional plugins for my own use, lack of inheritance of standard properties, methods, and events is a detraction. Consider limiting the required property definitions for a plugin to those which are unique to the plugin and the custom html edit dialog should automatically expand to the extents of the edit window to facilitate better workflow when editing the contained code.

I have used this programme since july 2003 and it is getting better and better with each update. It was easy to use to start with and now it has alot of functionality and features that are just not available elewhere for people who do not now how to write code themselves. The WYSIWYG is great and the multiple master layer concept is brilliant to use.

Microsoft offers both Windows Messenger (XP only) and MSN Messenger (used to be 9x/Me/NT/2000, but now also includes XP). Windows Messenger was originally supposed to replace it, but they must have given up on that goal. You still need it for certain business-related features if you use them, but MSN Messenger als works. And it's what I prefer also. :)
