Although mike59 cuts & pates his thoughts on registry cleaning on every registry cleaner review I disagree totally with him.
After 15 years of building repairing PC's & now spending my life in comm rooms I find using a good cleaner can make quite a differenced to the stability of any PC. This cleaner is pretty good & safe.
I also use the now defunct 'Registry Crawler' which removes um heaps of entries when I remove a program. BTW 'Registry Crawler' is just a faster way of going through the registry & tapping F3.
I'm interested mike59 what the 'weather' (sic) has to do with registry cleaning?
I feel mike59 you are conscientious but totally wrong & misguided & I do wonder if you actually have ever tried registry maintenance? Do some real tests on newly installed PC's/well used PC's & the program access/ stability etc. can be seen & boot improvements can be measured in seconds.

Been using it with Windows 7 for several months now. Finds loads of registry errors, more than any other cleaner I've used and I've used basically all of them.

I don't agree with mike59, this reg cleaner works great. Personally I like having crap removed from my registry that many programs and Windows leaves behind. It has never harmed any of my PCs and I am sure Auslogics tries this out very carefully on a lot of configurations too. In fact if it ever does anything bad to my PC you can be sure I'll report it here. So until then go ahead and use this all day :) Just watch out when you install it - it does come with an option to install the horrible disgusting nasty ungodly ASK toolbar by default.

There is no reason to clean a registry ever.
All reg cleaners will harm your PC, weather you know it or not.
It will not speed up you PC. Makes it slower.
Reg cleaners remove entries that should never be removed.
Avoid any reg cleaner and defragger.

I have found Auslogics Registry Cleaner to be very effective and quite safe. Does anyone out there trust the results of a registry cleaner scan without checking the results? I mean I've found strings in CCleaner's results that should not be deleted. I always check the results of a scan; if I don't know what it is then I un-check it. I know, I know, checking the results takes time and a little effort.
But, should you accidentally delete a critical or required string Auslogics Registry Cleaner does the same thing CCleaner does; it makes a backup of your registry before deleting anything. So, if you do accidentally delete a required string all you gotta do is open up Auslogics Registry Cleaner and click the "File" drop down menu and select "Rescue Center" and it lists all available registry backups; assuming you haven't deleted them with another program. Select the appropriate backup and click "Restore". If you see no backups in the list don't freak out, just check the box in the lower left corner it will provide you with a full list; again, assuming you haven't deleted your registry backups with another program.
Auslogics Registry Cleaner is just as safe as CCleaner, but it finds a few more things because it's a bit more aggressive. This is a really good program.

Starting my favorite CCleaner I didn't find any "problem" at all.
Wise Registry Cleaner had 21.
Auslogics showed me 255 "problems out of ~175.000 registry keys.
Well, I didn't press the repair-button ...
