Publisher's Description
Avira Protection Cloud is a user friendly tool that scans your computer using the latest technologies available. Band together with Avira and our whole user community to recognize and stop malware before it spreads and infects other users. Protection is based on the most current malware information at all times, not just when your antivirus software downloads virus definitions. The files accessed by your computer are matched against the fingerprints of files stored in the cloud. As more scanning is done in the cloud, less processing power is required by the antivirus application. Access AviraĆ¢??s super computing malware analysis grid and get the best Avira detection ever. When our Virus Lab has access to unknown files at an earlier stage, it can classify them sooner and with more sophisticated analysis systems.

Seems to do what it indicates that it will do and that is perform virus and possibly malware scans on demand and then upload the ones that are unrecognized. Personally, I prefer using a live reputable virus/malware detector and using online scanners from time to time to do what this one does. I've used Avira products before and am pleased with the way it works which has a low impact on the performance of my computer and seems to have a reasonably good detection rate. This also performed well and didn't require a long period of time to scan my computer. The results appeared like the image depicted on this site and might give some greater relief to anyone wishing to know if their computer is free from viruses/malware.
