Publisher's Description
BDtoAVCHD is a tool to create AVCHD discs from Blu-Ray or HD MKV files. As output we get the folder structure ready to burn to a DVD5 or DVD9. The software compresses the video to achieve the desired overall size of 4.7 GB with the highest possible quality. It is ideal for backing up Blu-Ray's with much smaller size and maintaining high quality.
Also can convert Blu-Ray to MKV, MKV to AVCHD, Blu-Ray 3D to AVCHD/MKV 3D SBS/TAB and ability to encode MKV's using x265/HEVC codec.

"- Updated: x265 encoder to version 1.5.455"
Way out of date before it's release, because it uses 265 1.5:
HEVC 1.5.x has been available and in wide spread use for many months now, not only does it offer better quality but unlike 1.5.x and prior - 1.6 offers 50%+ smaller sizes with over 50% size reduction over the latest x264, while still providing Superior quality. 1.5 averages around 30% reduction while often introducing artifacts at what are supposed to be equivalent settings to x264. I feel sorry if anyone saw this app and though hey, here's a great opportunity to start migrating video's to HEVC.
x265 1.5 should be listed as a test feature if at all with a clear warning, not advertised as a "New!" feature like something that was old last year. BTW even DivX has a free version of a 1.5 converter without the adware on their website, and their a big company with a long solid reputation.
