CloneMaster will clean your hard drive of duplicate files that are just wasting space. It searches for TRUE duplicate files (byte for byte), same-name files and zero-length files and bring them to your attention. It includes Smart Delete, Rename, Save as. and other functions. The Smart Delete is a filter for flagging files for deletion. It identifies duplicates based on name, byte size, data, and so on. Also there is a security feature that you can enable to leave your windows directory alone.

Of course it says that now, but did not back in April. Still, the developer should come out and declare that trial users will not be allowed to realistically evaluate his software. When I tested it, it would only find five duplicates before halting the find process.
However, this claim is made on the CloneMaster page:
No limites [sic]: CloneMaster can scan files with size over 2GB. 32bit is something of the past, CloneMaster handles 64bit file size. you can have as many duplicates listed, no need to wait for the list to update.
As one who wants to test this claim, how would I know that CloneMaster can do what it claims until I buy it? Caveat Emptor, I'm not accepting that claim by faith; you have to show me.

I think that reviewer "zridling" post on Apr 17, 2006 doesn't know how to read very well!
On SoftByte web site it does states " Trial license: Fully functional except for Delete and Print ", so what's the problem with ZRidling! A jalouse competitor !
Also, I am a long time customer of CloneMaster and I never had any problems uninstall it!
Before making any assumptions, just read first!
Advice anyone else, just try the software on your own and make your own decisions.

Beware that this software is crippled and will not work unless you purchase it first. The developer does not inform you of this before you download it, though. The full story is here. Also, be forewarned that once installed, CloneMaster is extremely difficult to remove from your computer.
