Continuum is a free, Internet multiplayer space-combat game. Compete with your team against other players on a variety of servers, each with unique maps and mission objectives (CTF, Powerball, Duel, and so on). A brand-new ground-up build of the popular game Subspace, it offers gameplay that is easy to learn yet difficult to master. Seems to me me a little bit like one of my favorite ancient DOS-Games, VGA Planets. I loved it.
Perhaps I would give it full points, from the day on it works ;-)

not joking. Graphics-wise, almost any game on the market today beats Continuum. No one can argue that the graphics are dated. If graphics are all you care about, go play another game. But the sheer playability (and replayability) is second to none. I have never played a game that has kept me so interested over so many years. I really enjoyed games like Diablo, C&C, and Counterstrike. But let's face it-- after a while, those games get old, and some company eventually rehashes the same game with the same play style with better graphics and better gameplay. Continuum is totally different. Don't be fooled by its incredibly simplistic-looking 2-D interface. The different gameplay scenarios are endless. You like 1 on 1 fighting? Continuum has it. Smaller team action like 4 on 4? No problem. You against the other 50 people in the playing arena? Check. Massive free-for-all games with with 90 people simultaneously? Yup. Let me tell you what I thought, the first time I saw this game. It was back in 1995 or so. I saw my roommate playing it on my PC, and I said "What kind of stupid game is that? Why don't you play Command & Conquer instead? That looks SOOOOO dumb." Then he said, "yeah, it looks dumb...but you HAVE to try it. I've been playing for 6 hours, and I can't stop." You simply HAVE to try it. Don't discard it after playing it for 1, 2, or even 3 hours. Get used to it and try to understand the way the game works and how to get better. EVERYONE who plays Continuum goes through a terribly frustrating learning curve and dies hundreds of times before they begin to understand how it all works. And once you start getting better, you can bet that you'll be playing for a long, long time. This game has far greater staying power than other games. I've played all the cool games. I have my fun the Quakes, Diablos, and Warcrafts. They're really great fun for a few weeks...even a few months. But in the end, I ALWAYS go back to Subspace. It's simply the best. Oh....and the chat interface makes the game extremely cool, too. Once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. You can have a 8 or 9 chat channels with 10 people on each channel, if you want. Someone mentioned that "only geeks play this game." Well, you're partially right. There are a LOT of geeks who play this game. Surprisingly, there are a lot of very normal people who are closet Continuum addicts. They play Continuum and get their kicks killing people from all over the world. And then they go back to their daily lives. (Yes, you know who you are...) ;-) Bottom line: This game is extremely fun and extremely addictive ONCE you understand how to play it. But you can only enjoy it if you try it out and give it a chance. Have fun, gland PS - Play this game at your own risk. Once you start enjoying it, you WILL be addicted.
