Original CoolMon v1 works better.
This one is a joke. You give it free access to download so it will install(?)& then there are no options to configure it at all. As in download & install a plugin-duhh
You have to go to the website to get more plugins & then they give you examples in languages other than english.
After it jerked me around so it would install I had to forcibly restart it as it hung on an initial startup. waste of time

It wouldn't work properly because of installation problems. Fair enough but instead of uninstalling it only deactivates itself and the rubbish has to be removed manually.

It says 'InitConfig.cml could not be found" and just stops and unloads.

could use a bit more options, a bit limited on that...for example, date change, multicolor text, etc - just fun things...i noticed a bug/issue: i clicked 'show desktop' when running 1 ie window on xp sp 1, but when i opened it back up to full screen i had cool mon rite over my window!...not a big issue, still a great program, smooth, fast, and love the installer (get that?, samarize?)

Works ok for what it monitors.
Try TaskInfo 2003 for more info than you'll know what to do with. TaskInfo is an excellent tool for monitoring and controlling what is happening with your system.

5/5 is an under-statement. :)

NOTE: It's inappropriate to rate a program like that. You didn't even get to see its features, etc.

I, on the other hand, do get to see its features. I've been using CoolMon for a while now, and I love it. Very customizeable, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing (if you set it the way you want it). I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cool new gizmo.

I'm using Windows Me. On system startup, this program says, I need a dll, and prompted me to go to some microsoft site, in order to download the fix. Only problem, is the fix is for Windows NT only. So, it doesn't work on my Windows Me system.

did Coolmon go away? Their website has been down for quite some time now. I hope Coolmon didn't fall subject to the AIM+ syndrome - disapearing then repearing 2 months later...

Great program, very useful even just using the basic included 'quick configs' for the layout. No crashes, or system compitable problems as of yet. Bug: When setting Systray icon to CPU use percentage, and resizing the font, the percentage gets to big to show on systray making that option useless since it cant be seen.

This is a cool program. The only problem is that "samurize" is way much better!

Excellent utility, been using it for a long time. If I could request one thing though, it would be VMW (ie Litestep) support.

Good program, its free but not as good as samurize

mmutschler

I use it some time now, and it is the best utility of its kind. It shows all the necessary info: cpu-usage (where you can exclude an tasks!), network traffic, cpu-temperatures, ram-usage, etc.

Orbit

Orbit reviewed v0.981 on Aug 6, 2002

Well, it's still a good program, however, I find it uses upwards of 7.5 megs of mem, whereas, Motherboard Monitor only uses 3.5. If you aren't concerned with mem usage, not a bad freebie, still. About the only thing I use it for anyway is to monitor my cpu temp, as my cpu is watercooled and o/c'ed a bit.

This program gets five stars from me, as always. I'd like to see something simple like Used Hard Drive Space implented though. Other than that, everything seems grand.

Orbit reviewed v0.94 on Feb 19, 2002

I use this in conjunction with Motherboard Monitor. MBM was recently updated, and CoolMon no longer worked, so I waited for this version of CoolMon to address that. Seems I had to create a new Folder in my DaisyMan (CoolMon) Folder called : dll and then I simply copied the mbmio.dll from the MotherBoard Monitor program folder into it. Works swell now. Says it has support for Font Colors, but I haven't tried it, I use white Transparent on a dark background....-- Using Win2K Pro, SP2---Athlon 1GHz, 512 megs PC133 CAS2 SDram.

Very good monitoring program
some bugs referenced on the official site. It needs some new features like a different font color for parameters
Running fine under w2k
waiting for a newer release

Good program, but I prefer CureInfo. Its alot less space wasteful than this program, and it integrates perfectly with the task bar. Although this program has some strong options for laptops, but I dont have a laptop.

This is the first non-obtrusive, low-resource eating, expertly featured, fully customizable sys0info program i've ever seen.

I've used several sys-info programs and none were to my liking. this one is absolutely terriffic. Try It...

Alpha version totally kicks ass. I'm getting some new explorer crashes under XP which I wasn't seeing before the installation... however, I have no doubt this author will fix this little buggie soon. Beautiful program.

A nice performance monitor. The transparency feature is really cool and it's got some other neat options, like "pin to desktop". Unfortunately it fills up my Windows 2000 application log with error messages. If this bug gets fixed, CoolInfo can turn into a really good program.

equinox9 reviewed v0.78 Beta on Aug 27, 2001

Not so cool...I get a "division by zero" error on startup and only the words "BLANK" are displayed.

Needs some error checking, I think...

That's either because: 1) you don't use win2k or 2) you have performance counters turned off Check the site in the future!
