Publisher's Description

CpuIdle lowers the CPU temperature by disabling it when not needed. This prolongs the CPU life (a decrease by 10°C doubles the life span) and cuts power consumption. Unlike normal power management, it is active all the time and works even when you're actively using your computer.

Both Beta8 and now Beta9....S1 cooling still does not work. Have to use the C2 option. Not sure what this means but it didn't use to be like this.
Why do I use it? Becuz...I've disabled ACPI and no longer have Win2K's built-in HLT function.
Again....when it works, it works.

It still does not run on winxp and I am running an Abit-KG7-Raid and it doesn't even detect it. so I think it kinda sucks. Love the idea though.

I don't care if this program puts your dog out in the backyard and does your laundry for you, don't say it's freeware if it's not !!!!!!!!

When enabled this program casues severe distortion to my sound and sometime locks up my system. I am using CPUIdle on a Gigabyte GA-7VTX-H with Athlon 1.4Ghz T-bird. Version 5.8 still works but doesn't cool the system down near as much as 5.9 beta. I'll take not as cool, over system instability. Beta gets a 3 release version 5.8 is 5 stars!

The temerature of AMD th-b 1333 before this prog was 65 grades celsius ... now it is 35 !!!
Shareware - that's the only problem with it ...
the program must be free !:)

Why is this program highlighted as being Freeware on the more information page? It is actually shareware!
It does however appear to work. The cost is 20USD or 30DM if you want to keep it.

This program does exactley what it says it does, and does it well. My CPU was running anywhere in the 130F degrees before I started using CpuIdle, and it soon dropped down to 105F degrees average! CpuIdle is a must for overclockers, and regular users alike.
