JWvanLohuizen you are a stupid idiot.
netcaptor was the first tabbed browser, and crazy browser was around long long time before that piece of crap firef**.
I havn't had a chance to try this yet, but I'm rating it a 5 just because of that loser JWvanLohuizen

Yuch,

This looks muddled and crappy. Like M$ explorer that ran out of gas. Firefox and Seamonkey both have tabbed browsing and have had it longer that any other browser and it based on the first ever tab browsing plug-in called Multizilla which has been around longer than you have and is updated regularly and is still the best tab-browsing feature set any where!

Gecko is the lightest and fastest true browser engine anywhere and smokes IE, and isn't another mediocre M$crap clone like this program. All these guys did was copy explorer and rebranded I.E. and called a browser. It is even HTML 3 and 4 compliant and works woth more websites that the upcoming I.E.8

Yes Avant has a number of great features and I have loaded it on friends' computer but they prefer Firefox. I have also used Maxthon and although they have made a number of great strides it is still slower than the and buggier thank gecko based browsers. Besides which browser besides Firefox and Seamonkey has as many working extensions.

Don't waste your time with this kind of I.E. clone. Get yourself a real browser, no matter which engine it is base on.

Though here on the Crazy Browser v3.0.0Beta1 using v3.0.0Beta2.
Now might not be chock full of features but has about 60% of the best needs but my FáV is it has continuous HIGHLIGHTing on searches meaning lets say you are searching for 12.0 earthquakes but on most browsers one has to reTICk highlight when changing pages on CRAZY browser no need as pg fully loads its auto highlighted, simple feature but very frustrating when search long to load or certain types of pages.

Er, yeah. Can someone please tell me exactly why "Gecko" is better than the IE engine? However, I agree: this program is trash (as is Firefox). Nothing beats Maxthon or Avant Browser. With those you get tabbed browsing, the most compatible rendering engine, and a billion options Firefox can't even dream of.

I just LOVE this interface to the IE engine and
there IS a point in still working with the IE engine. You don´t need to install the awful JAVA just the Microsoft VM is enough and thats it. And as I said in the beginning I just LOVE this little browser. Keep up the good work!!!!

I used to love this browser and if the author had pulled his finger out I'd probably still be using it. But I switched to Firefox and I've become so used to it that I don't see any need to go back to CB anymore - which is a shame. If Microsoft get tabbed browsing right with IE7 then it will put a lot of IE based tabbed browsers like this out of business. Kudos to the author for such a fast rendering engine for IE (probably the fastest) but it's time has long since come and gone now. Oh and v2.01 was released in July btw.

Tokar reviewed v2.0 on Jun 28, 2005

All of these front ends are the same...well except for AOL Explorer and E2 browser.

They all mimic the IE look and then add some...
And all the stuff that is added is all the same in each browser. Zooming, anti-phishing, advanced footprint cleaning, awesome search bar, skinning, multi-language support, tab grouping, blah blah blah...the list can go on and on.

They are all the same. I suggest one try them all (GreenBrowser, Avant, Maxthon, CrazyBrowser, DeepNet Explorer, etc.) and find which one feels best.
Personally, I liked the feel of GreenBrowser the best. But I prefer a new look and feel to an IE front end...so I'm sticking with AOL Explorer.

I would go with maxthon or avant since ie has some major issues in the security area ..

i used to use this browser and it was good for the time i used it but i could never go back due to all of the latest security issues ..

I love this little browser.
One question. A while back, I noticed that CRAZY BROWSER changed it's name to AM BROWSER. Development on CB was supposedly stopped.

I just checked and there are now sites for both products:

www.crazybrowser.com
and
www.ambrowser.com

Both seem to be the same product, diff names.

HUH? What gives?

Anyway, I LOVE this little guy, if you gotta have something on the IE core.

Crazy Browser 2.0.0 (the one I'm reviewing here) is excellent. I've used this browser since 2001, and I must say, it is superb. I've been using Maxthon, though, when I saw that Crazy Browser wasn't updated any more. Now that it's back, I'm back, too =D

What bugged me about a lot of tabbed browsers was not having the tabs at the bottom. In CB, it's not as easy getting tabs there as in Opera, but thankfully the option was there in Options > Advanced Options. In Mozilla, I had to tweak the config files to get tabbing at the bottom.

So far, I'm using this browser when I need to use IE (some sites actually _still_ require it exclusively, sadly), but with CB back, it's less of a pain.

If you're going for a tabbed IE-based browser, CB is the way to go. The size to usefulness ratio can't be beat.

I have tried so many browsers over the years & always come back to this one as it seems the fastest browser.
It might not have all the fancy features but it has everything I need.
I have found it to the most stable espcially when having more than 32 Tabs open than all the others.

I have used almost all the free web browser available, I got stuck for firefox as alternative browser and Crazy browser as IE based browser.

Crazy browser has all the basic need for pro surfer:
1-The smallest ever memory footprint among the IE based browsers like MyIE or Avant Browser..
2-It saves last sites I've been into.
3-Very effective use of middle button (wheele mouse).
4-Pop up Blocker,
5-Very Stable compare to all IE based.
6-Group management.

I give it 5 for all the above...

This is not the most advanced browser, but it's got few features that made it tool of choice
1. Save easily all open tabs urls to txt file. Just press export to txt. (Not to GROUP, but to plain TEXT file). Than you can do with this file whatever you want. save if for future use. send it to friend. whatever
2. Tabs count enabled by default. very usefull. if you used to open dozens of tab, like me.
3. Very easy to jump to the last or first tab. Just press those arrows down the screen. In Maxthon, for example, you have to scroll all open tabs in order to getthe last one

I've been using it since version 1.0 released

I LOVE this program. I've tried them all, and this is by far among the very best.

Do yourself a favor & try it out.
A few minor things I'd like to see, like better popup blocking; more control of GROUPS [like better editing, DELete old groups, renaming, etc]; and clearer navigation for tabs -- like 3/10 - meaning you're on TAB 3 of 10. The Tab Count at bottom is OK, but could be improved.

A wonderful browser!

I've been trying just about EVERY tabbed MSIE shell browser under the sun. And it's a real chore. I used MyIE2 for a long time, but I just ditched it due to a number of minor bugs (annoying), and one major bug (infinite opening of MSIE windows) which can crash the whole system. And that's the thing with these browsers--the ones that are loaded with features have the most bugs. That's often how things work with software, of course, but it bears mentioning here. Sure, MyIE2 works with PowerMarks; it has that "collector" feature; it supports MSIE plugins (and has plugins of its own); and Crazy Browser doesn't have any of that. But the trade-off is that Crazy Browser is FASTER and LESS PROBLEMATIC! For example: I just found out that while MyIE2 gives me that annoying "red X image placeholder" problem, Crazy Browser does not. Crazy Browser also loads faster initially, and seems to load pages faster as well. Yes, you will have to put up with shortcomings like a toolbar that isn't as configurable as it could be, but remember, trade-offs...

Despite the quality of the above screenshot (you should really put a better one up BetaNews), this really is an excellent addon for IE - really excellent. However, it is starting to feel a little out of date now. I understand that it's just one guy who coded this and even he doesn't know when or if there will be another release (from what he's said to me). Which is a big big shame really, because with just a tweak here & there, it really could be a browser to be talked about. It still gets 5 stars though.

This not a browser (after installing CB,try to remove IE and see what happens) but a browser skin for IE6. Of course, it's free. Who would pay for a skin?

Orbit reviewed v1.05 on Apr 10, 2002

Having used Netcaptor up through the ranks when it was free, small, and efficient, to see it go to about $30, and then finding Crazy Browser...all I can say is, why would someone pay for something they can get for free. I've used CB v1.01 and now 1.05, on 2KPro and XP Pro, and it performs flawlessly. I didn't notice any performance hits..but then again I have a fairly big, new system. The scheme also fits in with my customized version of XP Silver...I'm happy with it. Thumbs Up all the way. One thing, which will be moot soon, it requires IE 6, but I like that too. Dang, must be in a good mood today. hahaha...

Can someone send the previous version of CrazyBrowser
(version 1.01) to me at jtliu@canada? I just need the
1 "Crazy Browser.EXE" file rather than CBSETUP.EXE.
For some reason, version 1.05 behaves SLOWER on my
computer than version 1.01 and I think it may be due
to the Smart Pop-Ups Filtering.

The author is nice and works hard to implement new functions to his software. It also has some more function which Netcaptor hasn't
