Publisher's Description
Crypto Maniac uses str2hex(string) encryption in the first form which converts the string to a pseudo-hexadecimal notation. In the second form it uses Rot 13. Rot 13 is a very simple yet effective way to scramble text data. All text characters are rotated 13 places, therfore (so a+13 = n). The same rotation is used for encrypting and decrypting text strings, and any digits or punctuation are not encrypted. To decrypt, just hit button again to reverse function. By no means is this a highly secure method of hiding your source code or script for the reason that; the browser needs to parse the data in order to understand it. Therefore if the browser can read it, regardless of the encryption format, it would be insecure. But what it can do is to make it hopefully too much of an annoyance to get the average amateur for them to bother trying to steal your code. If you have anything really valuable, don't try and protect it with this script. There are encryption geniuses who can crack almost anything. There's no way to make a 100% secure client-side script. But as cracking the encoded script will take quite a while, and some good knowledge of javascript too, use it for simple things - when cracking is just too much trouble. Some of its many features include the ability to launch MS notepad, common "Open" and "Save" dialogs, and browser preview.
