This is much smaller and much lighter than SmartDraw. However, it doesn't come close. Off hand, I can list two vital features that I thoroughly miss:
1 - possibility to rotate any object at an angle
2 - possibility to insert special characters into text (some do display fine, but most don't).
All-in-all, it is an interesting alternative if you only need the very basics, but I'm looking forward to the inclusion of a more solid set of features before adopting it.
Also, I am not completely sold on the 2007 look and feel, I found previous versions easier to use (but then I have the same problem with Office even after several months of use).

Very impressive.
I tried many diagramming packages, and this one is the best, both in interface and capabilities.

This is a serious business package designed to be fun to use. Download and kick the tires. You might just be very pleased with the results.
