DupExplorer features a comparison algorithm with a variety of options that let you decide how to find duplicates – by size, by date, content, names or a combination of these criteria. You can either opt for the "quick and dirty" approach to be able to find the duplicates on the hard-drive in a short time, or go for the thorough file and folder comparison, which takes longer, but is more accurate. DupExplorer supports all types of storage media (HDD, floppy, CD/DVD, removable and network drives) and has a Window Explorer like interface. If necessary, program users can apply filters (file name, file location, file size, file data, file attributes) in order to speed up the process or to limit the search scope.
