Publisher's Description
EmotiPad simplifies the process of using emoticons by cataloguing them in your own personal library, and has functions to insert them directly into Web browser windows (or in fact any text entry field you wish including e-mail). It requires that you have an active Internet connection to function fully, this is simply to check for a valid key file.

Shadow.. your right about a comments board... would be so much easier!
And yes, that was constructive and fair. Cheers m8 - see you around no doubt :)

Well I admit the "fully function" line is definetly a nice addition however it still says: "this is simply to check for a valid key file." :(.... Oh well... However, I am upping them to a three as opposed to a one! But see it was constructive criticisim... BTW: This board really needs a comment section! ;)

Jakemasterman - If what you say is true (i.e. it only needs the inet connection to check for updates and not for registeration validation) then the author should update the description. As it stands the description says someting completly different from what you are saying. Anyhow, I think this might be a case where we might have to end up agreeing to disagree. ;) I will of course keep an eye out on this program and see what the next version says.

But if you dont have an internet connection... how can you see the gif? It is a library of internet URL's!!
As for saying the key check is Spyware, I contacted SouSoft about this and they said when you first fire up the program it simply checks for the presence of a version file on their server (I have checked this with a system activity monitor and port sniffer, and it's true!), once running you can drop your Net connection if you want .....I think this is a good idea as it lets me know if there are better versions I could be using.
I think you guys are being a little unfair, it's like saying "my FTP client forces me to connect to the internet to upload to my web server" DOH :)
If you really have problems, maybe it might be a good idea to contact SoulSoft for their response.
