I tried loading a dictionary and I can't. What am I doing wrong? :P
I'll give it a neutral 3 for the moment. Hope the color of the interface will change. Reminds me of old Atari ST apps.

Congratulations Vlad and for those who don't like this dictionary application: the world is not perfect :).

It's a nice program, has a lot of potentional. However, the download here did not come with the dictionaries and then the web site tells me to run Update.exe, of which that file is no where to be seen. I have now found where to download the dictionaries, but only after trying to shut down the program. Also, I don't like how its a left mouse click on the tray icon to open the menu. I would like to give it a 5 out of 5, but those aforementioned things annoyed me.

Great application, EXTENSIVE dictionaries, if not one glitch - when i'm clicking "close" button (X), I want it to close - not to go to tray.

It's a really nice program. It's nice if you don't want to have to look them up via the net. It could use a little GUI update but other than that it very good at what it does.

I was really impressed by its power. I have already a dozen various dictionaries and translating programs but the amount of info this dictionary is returning as a result of a search is far better than all the others put together. I'll recommend it to all my friends.

Version 2.1 means 2.10 and is newer than 2.03.
"One thing...isn't rather silly to offer us the 2.01 beta version when elsewhere the 2.03 version (doesn't seem to be a beta either) is being offered. http://www.softnews.ro/p...cat/15/5/15-5-152.shtml What is the point in us testing software that has already been pathed to fix flaws we may find? "

A wonderful dictionary. Almost impossible to get into their server located somewhere in Outer Bulgaria. Best to download the moduls as a collection from a U.S. server. Well worth the d/l trouble for this terrific dictionary ! _____The DataRat

Thank you D. Vladutu for the nice program (translator). It was easy for me to download the dictionaries. When I need to translate a word, I simply right-click on it! I tried Babylon before, many times, but very unstable.
I recommend it to my friends, everywhere, here at home or on Forums.
I keep it! Tx D. Vladutu, and remember; do not try to please everyone, if you want to succeed, be nice with yourself first. Bye from Canada.

Hi, I made this software. It is not a virus and it is not a trojan. I used an exe comprimator (PE Compact trial edition) to reduce the application size (because I don't have enough storing space on www.free-soft site).
Please read readme.txt regarding errors and test it before give it bad marks. If you know Delphi I will send some of application sources to see that is a clean software. Maybe... I was born in Romania. I'm proud of this.
I made this software to learn English but I still dont't know English. I hope that others find it usefull. Regards, Daniel Vladutu

What a virus? No way. I scanned with several antiviruses and found no problem. Man, update or delete your antivirus!
About trojan. I tested it and dictionary is connecting to a update page from free-soft site. I don't know why is doing that because update.exe works fine.
So... smart guy: keep your words in your mouth. This is a 10* software.

First off, @ Kasparhauser: Checked the install file which I received from betanews itself and it showed all clear on my VScan (NAI Virusscan) and on 2 Onlinescanner I tried. So it looks like a false positive or a very paranoid scanner. Don't know much about Avasts reliabilty though.
I did notice that the Software tries to establish several connections to the internet and after reading up a little I found out it gets all its definitions from the internet off several sites. Some of them seem to have a tracking character, so Avast may be detecting this as some form of Trojan Spyware and in a broad definition of the word it does seem to be Spyware.
I couldn't find any dictionaries to add, that could be because I gave the programme severely restricted internet access. My advice, hands off unless you don't mind data being collected to your usage of the dictionary.

tried installing the downloaded file for Everest Dictionary & got this message from Avast! Antivirus: "13.06.2003 23:09:28 Sign of 'Win32:Trojan-gen. {UPX!}' has been found in 'C:\Downloads\Dictionary.exe' file." I wound up deleting the file altogether in order to avoid a catastrophe. I don't know if Avast! was on the money or not in detecting the apparent virus: proceed at your own risk.

A fantastic dictionary in the major European languages.
It works smoothly and is very stable. I would recommend it
for everyone.

Whoa, where did THIS program come from? Well after today i'm glad that I found it (thanks to betanews)
I've been in need of a dictionary like this for a while, but since there were no free alternatives I stuck to my tried and true hardcover college dictionary. But now that may change a bit.
This little program has all the features I need. You can look up words, translate words from one language to another, even build your vocabulary using the game it has. Let it set in your tray and you can click words in webpages and other documents to look them up on-the-fly.
I highly recommend this program.
