I tried to be fare in my rating because I like the idea. I just won't trust an idea like this if people can't view the source. Call me paranoid, but I'd rather be safe then sorry, since this thing is monitoring my browsing habbits.

At any time you can exit the program, disable the crawling, and even disable the autostart.
Only if you start the program manually again, the autostart is re-enabled.
This behaviour is identically to other major desktop search programs.

After hopelessly trying to prevent this app adding a registry startup entry I uninstalled it.
I gave it a test run but don't need it always running in the background, especially when working with sensitive information.
If it could be turned off rather than temporarily disabled it might have greater appeal.
