I'd give this five stars for being a joke. But it's serious. So you get the one star award for being silly.

I have to ask though...why?

Open browser, type address in address bar, press enter, drag the little icon left of the address bar onto the desktop. Simple.

Or alternatively...

Right click on desktop, select New, select Shortcut, click Next, give it a name, click Finish.

No extra software needed.

It seems this person has never used 'drag n drop' !?
If you want to build software firstly identify a worthwhile purpose for it.
This is a square wheel.
