Improvelence you need to keep your comments
about other people to yourself because they may not like what you have to say about them. I don't use freedos but I know that there are people out there who still use it instead of windows not because of what you say but people probably prefer to dos then windows.

Not as efficient and compatible like Enhanced DR DOS, but good to see it still living.

Personally, I still care about this project, but I'm not stupid. Probably less than a thousand people (worldwide) still have any REAL use for FreeDOS. A few OEMs like Dell like to sell a few PCs with FreeDOS to people who don't want to pay for a Windows license because they secretly intend to load a pirated copy of XP.
Did you know that there's an open source project named Hercules which lets you run OS/390 (decendent of MVS which was decendant of MVT, an IBM mainframe OS from the 1960's) on a PC? You don't care, right? FreeDOS will be joining Hercules in obscurity soon.

Apparently stopbuggingme and Pegusis2 don't understand the concept of what FreeDOS aims to do. Whatever your reason is for using DOS, whether to play old DOS games, run old DOS applications, etc., FreeDOS beats the ever-living hell out of MS-DOS. Think DOS, but with more memory, tools, etc. If you're about making an old games machine, like I did, definitely give FreeDOS a try.

Cool, but feel that the boot stuff should be able to read/write NTFS natively, handle partitioning of large volumes in both FAT 32 and NTFS and be fairly smart about memory management like Dos 5.x and 6.x were.
Still, at least it's out there and it works. :)

DOS was not developed by a for profit company moron, it was stolen by one.
Actually, FreeDOS has MANY uses if you are savy and especially has a use where I work....not for a user OS but a much more technical purpose. Dont review something if you dont know how to use it or have never used it or dont understand the usefulness of a lightweight OS.
It is also useful to dual boot with a small dos drive just in case you need to run any old dos apps that wont work right with DOSBox. Especially if you are on a 64 bit OS.

Interesting. Now I can get back to playing Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein the way they were intended! (Yea, yea, I know I can play them now anyway.)
