Updated review: There is no uninstall module. In my book, that places this POS on the same level as viruses and spyware. Rating lowered to 1. It's too bad we cannot rate crap like this even lower. Fileforum, remove this from downloads.
========================
The one game on which I tried this ran far better with the physical CD-ROM than with the virtual copy made by GameDrive. The playback with GameDrive was quite jerky, but hardly at all when using the original physical CD-ROM.
In addition, the instructions leave much to be desired. The help file was clearly written by a geek who never gave a moment's thought to asking anyone "normal" if what was written could be fairly easily understood. What is really needed during installation and set-up is a wizard, but none is to be found. Although okay for me, I know many less technically savvy individuals will find themselves completely lost regarding some of the features and options.
Those not-so-minor issues aside, at least it does not crash my system. (I expected that for some reason. Maybe it was the "trust us" or "blind faith" aspect of installation and set-up.) And as one might expect with such an application, it does a fine job of insinuating itself into the registry.
I will now uninstall GameDrive and run the game from the physical CD-ROM. It ran much better that way.
