I have a rocketfish USB microphone which is supposed to recognize any OS Win5+ automatically. Goldwave instantly recognizes my microphone. I normally talk in it, delete some tracks by highlighting and punching del button. Then I can raise the volume and it sounds better over the decimal level on Mediacoder. I use it for every podcast. I don't know how to override the internal vorbis encoder, only Aotuv b5 of 10/2006.

Highly functional program, works with many common sound formats, is worth every penny paid. Very intuitive interface, you will not be disappointed.

Simply the best!

Simply the best editor, period.
Been using it for years and it's always "just worked".

A pleasure to use, stable, and so much functionality in such a small package. Attributes that are all too rare these days.

Amazing software. Small and loaded on features. Love it!

fast and easy to use. Good Buy.
all so check out ngwave and audacity

An excellent piece of software that is well worth the money. Audacity cannot do the sophisticated cue editing, mixing and effects that this audio editor manages effortlessly.
It's a bargain at this price.
Five stars.

Very good tool, but for most things I can use the freeware Audacity, which is looking nice since 1.2.

To FileForum: Goldwave 5.x doesn't work with Win95/NT:-(

With CoolEdit 2000 absorbed into the evil clutches of Adobe, this is truly the best game in town. Versatile, bug-free (in a way that Cool Edit 2000 never was), full-featured and inexpensive - I can't say enough good things about it.
Five by Five, folks!

I've been using Goldwave for 3 years now and 5.0 does not disappoint. For a beta it works great on my operating system (Windows XP Pro). I have yet to explore all the new features but am impressed up to now. This software is not expensive compared to others (Cool Edit and Soundprobe). I have SP1 installed on my system and not experiencing the problem mentioned by another user. The next beta will be out in the middle of February. Hope it continues to impress!

Goldwave 4.26 ran on my system just fine. 5.00 beta tells me my version of Windows (XP Pro SP1) "does not support IEEE floating point audio format. Goldwave cannot play or record audio."
mh508 reviewed v5.00 Beta on Feb 2, 2003
I have been using GoldWave since the early 2.xx version... I currently work with the 4.26, so when i saw a 5.0 BETA flashing in here I remembered all those great stuff they had in the to-do list for the 5.0. Great software!

Long time no see, GoldWave is back ? It was one of the first good wav editor, simply and powerful.

A very powerful, if not very speedy, editor. It cost more than I'd normally consider, but has thus far seemed worth it.
