You know, earlier versions of it would not work properly on my 98/ME rigs...this one quite OK.

Not bad for a video player, downloads videos transparently.
My main qualm is that it uses a new extension... QVI... so the videos are tied to Google Video Player. It's easily solved by feeding them into your favorite AVI muncher, but still...
The default video location is in a Google Videos folder under your Documents. You can change this from the preferences, for example I keep all my perfectly legal (>__>) videos in D:\Videos, so I just set Google Video Player to dump it's stuff in a subdirectory off of that.

Prefer VLC it at least plays other formats.

I don't think it's amazing, but I guess it does what it's designed for.
I'm not sure where all the video is that's in this format. In fact, I don't recall even NEEDING yet another video player.
But I'll guess I'll leave it on for now.
Googles starting to rack up a collection of software associated with it. I think they should put their clout behind one of the Linux distros and come out with an alternative to Windows (or Mac OS X if you're up to date and know there's ways to install it on a PC now). How about "Googlix" or "Loogle", uh, well you get the point.

Work seemlessly, good stuff.
Although, mabye there should be a progress bar and configuration options for people with slower internet connections.

I wrote a previous review as TRE2004, since I wrote that review someone has told me that you can watch a full episode of "family Guy" I think it is the first episode. It is one of the ONLY streams that I have been able to find other than the link the previous poster added.
I'm giving it a 3 of 5 as of right now, but I believe that it will be better as time goes on. This is one of those things that you have to give time,
For more people to upload video.
I just noticed that Firefox isn't working for me as well.. I have to "view this page in IE"
But, I have found 2 or 3 family guy episodes so far.. hehe that is one crazy show.

I'm voting neutral, because I also was not able to find any streams to playback with this application. The suggestion above about searching for "google" is great information.
Google seems to always have good ideas and their implementation of their technologies is also very simple and useful - so I have nothing but optimism.
I do think it was a little too early for them to release a beta of this though. They should have at least provided direct links to video links or have a search for content with video clips only.

I tried it and the video was very slow, with hangups. After about a minute it froze and wouldn't restart. It appeared to be a server issue.
The system lacks any method to save the video, so the only way to see it is to watch the stream. Unlike other methods, there's no way to tell how well the content is streaming. There's also a lack of controls for things such as pausing the video.

I would give neutral 3/5... I have really no need for this, but that dosen't lower the rating... It's just that i consider this to be beta... It works ok, but there's something it needs... =)Great idea...
