I went ahead and loaded this inside of a virtual machine for grins. Not sure about the spyware/malware claims, but this is simply an IE wrapper, and not much of one at that. Aesthetics are poor, and completely bombs Acid2, Acid3, and Sunspider tests, as I would have expected since it's running on IE.

Great browser, fast and easy to use. lightweight and lets me hide the taskbar button, thats handy for me since i usually have alot of programs running at once. and to the people that bring up firefox, or the gecko engine, guys, i have a high-end pc, when it was a clean install, firefox or any gecko engine takes like 5 min just to start up, and the extensions is annoying. specially since most of the extensions are useless.. great browser tho, i love it!

The changelog says "Improve: Ctrl+Tab switch order", but in fact that feature is now messed up - if you have several web pages open, hitting Ctrl + Tab just cycles back and forward between the first two pages.

Tried it today for the first time on a clean install of XP. It crashed on the second run. Uninstalled and will stick with Maxthon 2. Max is 10 times better!
Don't use this junk!
Look at all the funny fanboi reviews!
How could one be a fanboi with this junk?
Only a brainless fanboi would use this junk!
Deserves a ZERO!
It crashes because of the spyware it installs.
Brian49 reviewed v4.4.0129 on Jan 30, 2008
I repeat my previous comments once again.
I get tired of reading `reviews' which complain that a program keeps crashing, when it crashes only on that person's system and not on anyone else's. One would think they might notice this fact, and try to find out what's wrong with their system.
Pfurri reviewed v4.4.0129 on Jan 29, 2008

jackpots reviewed v4.3.1011 on Nov 20, 2007
Very good except for a bit dated interface and too many buttons open at default. Well at least the many buttons can be adjusted and toolbar auto-hidden.
Browser is fairly quick with pages; good ad/pop-up block but no inline content text block; uses system favorites; stable at 20+ multi-tabbed; multi-doc interface to compare pages; restore closed pages; portable; plus more.
Online forums are week for English speakers, but if adventurerous beyond English, there are goodies aplenty.
Very much worth an evaluation.
Brian49 reviewed v4.3.1011 on Oct 11, 2007
I repeat the comments in my review of 20.3.07.
It's ridiculous that this excellent piece of software has an aggregate score as low as 3. As far as I can see, the only `reviewers' who have rated it at less than 4 are people who haven't even bothered to test it, but have condemned it simply because it's an IE front-end.
visible0 reviewed v4.2.0712 on Sep 9, 2007
Green browser has lots of features some hard to find on other browsers or hard to set i.e. have to enter / write it in comnpu'r languages to insert it. It does look like INTERNET SPIRIT browser or vice versa not sure who was first [in seeing two similar programs always check for viruses incase the copier is using a good program to use as a invaware carrier.] Nice features like the search feature where if one adds an icon it automatically places that search eng next to the search bar if no icon its then only in the drop down search tab. By placing a check in the SET SEARCH ENGING dialog box [opened by clicking on down arrow next to search box icon] those checked search sites can be ALL searched in one click of the search icon, want to search just one eng just "seleclick" [ok made up word] from the drop down search menu.
features gets a 4.7
user friendly style gets: 4.5
fast load pgs a 4
baths this month: 3.9
total avg: 4.27g rounded to 4.
Brian49 reviewed v3.9.0307 on Mar 20, 2007
The best of the IE front-end programs, in my view. High stability, great functionality and customisability, a light footprint, and some nice replacement icon sets.

EP can you quit your friggin trolling?
If you arent going to contribute anything to the review section with your dumb review, then dont post at all.
This isnt a place to rip on PERFECTLY GOOD SOFTWARE because you absolutely love FireFox and hate anything that has to do with Internet Explorer. FireFox reviews are meant for the FIREFOX REVIEW SECTION, dope.
With that being said, on to the review:
Personally, I think that GreenBrowser is the best of the Front ends at this time.
Better than AOL Explorer? Definitely (even though I use AOL Explorer...i like the interface)
DeepNet Explorer? Yup
Avant? Yup
SlimBrowser? Yup
FineBrowser? Yup
Smart Explorer? Yup
E2 Browser? Yup
FastStone 4in1? Yup
And Maxthon? Yup
Some will argue that Maxthon is better.
I just got a better experience out of GreenBrowser than I did with Maxthon. Its just personal opinion.
Dont listen to all these fools.
GreenBrowser is just another Internet Explorer frontend that has all the same features and tools as all the other frontends (well I cant speak for ALL...browsers like FastStone put more into the other 3 of the 4 parts of the browser (hence the name 4in1) than the actual BROWSER part) but GreenBrowser gives you more than just the feel of being an IE clone like most of the other frontends give you.
Yes it looks like IE just like the rest...I just get a different feeling with GB, thats all.
Side note: no spyware, adware, malware, or viruses.

The idea is good, but if this junkie was based on own engine, or on Gecko will be better for sure, no one needs shell for the big black hole Internet Explorer. If u need tabs, get FireFox
christoofar reviewed v2.3 Build 1215 on Dec 17, 2004
"uses Internet Explorer" Just another IE shell program. Firefox. End of discussion
bobad reviewed v2.3 Build 1126 on Nov 27, 2004
Excellent program! Very clean, uncluttered interface, great set of features out of the box. No need to download a bunch of annoying "extensions" to get more than basic browser functionality. A great feature is that it's IE based, so it's guaranteed to display more web pages properly than the competition. The best thing of all is there is no intrusive install program that adds dozens of registry entries and Windows bloat. Maxthon is still better, but Green is getting closer!
huwnet reviewed v2.3 Build 1126 on Nov 27, 2004
You can see that this program is not very good without even downloading it. The UI is cluttered. It would get a better rating from me if it was mozilla based. This is IE based and so has just as many bugs as IE.
darthbeads reviewed v2.3 Build 1105 on Nov 5, 2004
Utter garbage. Buggy and unattractive, and very rarely updated. Maxthon and Avant Browser are considerably more robust, faster, better supported and have much larger communities.
Furthermore, zridling: Firefox is the absolute ANTITHESIS of "bloated." You should download and use it before you make uninformed statements.
zridling reviewed v2.3 Build 1105 on Nov 5, 2004
Imagine a faster, smaller, more efficient Maxthon and you've got GreenBrowser. Very nice and worth trading up and throwing out Maxthon, which has become as bloated as Firefox.
weed reviewed v1.90 Build 1111 on Nov 11, 2003
I have to admit I really like this small footprint browser (I am currently an Opera user). It works well with Proxomitron Webfilter, Download Express and Foxmail (all my freeware favorites). It is easy to configure, fast, small and clean. I use 98Lite Pro and have Windows 98/SE installed without Internet Explorer and GreenBrowser seems to work without it just fine.
betasun reviewed v1.80 Build 1101 on Nov 2, 2003
better and better with every new release .
mmebane reviewed v1.80 Build 1030 on Oct 30, 2003
Sigh... another IE-based browser. IE is dying technology, folks. Base it on Gecko. You won't be disappointed.

Pretty good, still a few cosmetic issues but overall it is becoming a great alternative to MyIE2.

Final comment-still buggy and slightly weird-needs a lot more work(I know its beta)
SlowNeasy reviewed v1.6 Beta Updated on Aug 15, 2003
It's not as good as Myie2 or Avant Browser, both of which are free.
tusca reviewed v1.6 Beta on Aug 1, 2003
Until now i was using Avant Browser but now that i tried out this one (GreenBrowser) i switched over. GreenBrowser has a fantastic behavious, just as i like it.
By the way i also tried out MyIE and slimview but i don't like the look & feel.
I also use Opera a lot but you can't compare it to those IE based browser.
For me GreenBrowser is the best among all IE Based browsers.
FYI, it hasn't crashed yet on the 2 computer on which i installed it.
betasun reviewed v1.6 Beta on Jul 30, 2003
Overally good ,but this version is unstable .its good as
MYIE ,avant browser ,slim browser and some others .but let
not to compare them with Opera or NetCaptor .do you feel
the same when you surf with Opera and MYIE ?or with Opera
and Avant browser ?
Green browser is going to add some new features the reason why its now unstable .
Spupuz reviewed v1.4 Beta on Jul 8, 2003
good but i don't think is better than myie2
manatlan reviewed v1.4 Beta on Jul 4, 2003
i've tried it (like all every tabbed browser (netcaptor, avantgo, crazyb, ...))
Nice features, nice look, nice finition ...
But it still far from the best "MyIE2" ... which got a lot of features and a lot of plugins ... and full free.
MyIe2 is harder to configure, but has clearly a lot of features.
If you love this kind of browser, and you are a geek ... use MyIE2 ... it's the best !
xiaodai reviewed v1.4 Beta on Jul 4, 2003
This is the Opera of the IE hybrid world! It's feature packed.
One downside of it is the dodgy English documentation and awkward manual form filling. As many shortcut for naviagtion text has been assigned by the program to do something else (e.g. Ctrl + direction)
klumy reviewed v1.2 on Jun 17, 2003
