Publisher's Description

I2Phex is a totally anonymous and IP-hiding Gnutella client over i2p.net. i2p is the network and i2phex is the P2P client for that network.

Note: the publisher site listed here is not the official site!

Also the version up here (0.1.1.33) is old now.

Get the new version at the official forums:

You will need i2p working to use this. See forum above.

Important: Please note that the mentioned Sourceforge project page has *absolutely nothing* to do with the _real_ i2phex project! i2phex is a ported GNUtella client for the anonymous I2P network, and the announced release here was shamelessly stolen by a guy called Jetiants/Euseval/Closedshop or whatever handles he uses at the time being.

He is neither the author of the program nor does he have the right to fool the people. This is highly fraudulent :-(

OK, here's the trick. You have to have i2P installed (available at http://sourceforge.net/p...les.php?group_id=137856). then when you get that installed and running, use the I2P tray control to select i2Phex as your browser. I'm giving it a 3 due to the lack of clarity in setting up, but if you read the documentation files, you'll find out what I just stated above. I also need to punch a hole in my router config - I have to bypass the router for now to get it to connect to the network, but that's not the fault of the program. Will have to play with it some, then will update my review.

Haven't even downloaded the thing yet (I will when I get to work this morning) but it gets 5 stars just for principle... which is of course: bend the RIAA/MPAA over and turn their booty-holes into miniature grand-canyons. Sooooo sweet! Just another step in the right direction toward crushing evil.

This is not yet ready for prime time. After installation, which seemed to go well, I attempted to open the application. I got a splash screen and then ... nothing. I waited for it to open and finally decided to open the task manager just to see if something was running or not. The application was not running. I again attempted to open the app. I had the same result. Whether or not this is a good application, I cannot say. But I can say it cannot be opened on my computer. I shall await a later version.
