Well, I personally prefer Chameleon Clock, because it allows to show at the same time both the time and the date. It uses Winamp skins too.

This is a perfect compliment to Windows - if Microsoft was smart, they would add this functionality into the OS.

If you ever had the need to see a calendar, this is the perfect addition. Such an intuitive place to add a usefull calendar!

nice, it's okay small (304k) but I just like the clock style I saw in Longhorn release. And I'm happy to see such a small program to do just that.

The best clock replacement so far. httpd.confused -- you must be AOL-ed person, right? Its font is taken/based on your system font, and application-wise, every font type is configurable. Its limited in feature because nobody like bloated software (ala. AOL). And its free!
If anything, can you make day of week into 3 digits (or more), and make alarm able to run programs&scripts&macros.

Impressive update, LClock is using 244k on this machine, v1.51b used more than 4Mb!

Mindblowing app. At the time of writing this, LClock is using only 788K of memory in my computer. This is a major improvement over the previous version. Maybe Microsoft should consider including LClock as its default clock. Hats off to the guy who made this beautiful app for just 180K!!

Eheh, the memory thing I talked about below is now solved :) Sweet! Something else I would like too, is the calendar, when hovering on the tray, indicates the day as well (so the bubble today would tell me "Friday 03 September 2004" instead of "03 September 2004"). And maybe a built in todo list to replace shirusupad too, as asked by someone else on the forum :p I wanted to post that on the forum, but you have to be registered, and I'm already registered to like 20 other forums just to ask one thing so now I don't fancy bothering with new registrations.

At first, I was lukewarm, because I was afraid of loosing "Date and Time properties". But a single click brings up this calendar with events whereas a double click brings up the properties. Pretty well done! And I can have access to the task manager with two clicks, which will be very useful when I'm too lazy to use the keyboard, or want to pop up the task manager on a remote machine via UltraVNC for instance. I just have one question: LClock is low on memory, around 720KB. If I create an event, it stays around the same. But as soon as the event is triggered (with the little window popping up), memory usage goes up to 2.6MB. Closing this window doesn't help, and deleting the event either. Restarting LClock brings back usage to 700KB. Any clue why that is?
Still, a neat little gadget, a good 4.49 from me, just the event memory thingy that is puzzling me slightly. Oh yeah, since I'm using 24 hours format, with hours and minutes only, at the same size, is it possible to define a delimiter between hours and minutes? I'm happy with the ":" usually...

The 24 hour clock works beautifully on the three machines I run. Two running XP Pro and one running XP Home.

Even the Calendar works for me now.

Fantastic little program. Gives me hope for some of the capabilities of Longhorn if simple tools like this are integrated into the OS.

Good work Ying Han... a very useful lil thing that I believe no one would regret downloading/installing/running. An excellent example on how a util of such a type should be coded and delivered.

It's working very well for a beta prog. I hope the developer would find a way to resolve the bg bug (i feel it's more about the re-enumeration following hide/unhide of the systray).

I too am puzzled by some of negative reviews. LClock is a very small application that consumes negligible system resources and serves only to make a nicer looking clock in the systray with a pop-up calendar. If you want more functionality at the cost of greater demands on your system, by all means use one of the alternatives out there.

But for Pete's sake, judge it for its intent. I hope the developer is not discouraged by some of the irrational reviews that seem emotionally motivated.

proram not full developed, needs to show more information on the tray if the taskbar is doubled, it only centers and shows the time. program does what it claims, just think that it should also show the date (make the windows taskbar double the size on WinXP default theme)

He's right. Other clocks do a lot more. This has a nice font (though it's way too big for a one-row task bar), but other than that, there's nothing. TClockEx and PTBSync are much better.

I agree with jcgamer60. Some reviews are completely non sense... Really nice clock! One of the best things is the option to show the day of the month. I just wish an option to put the day of the month beside of the clock, so I'll have the clock with AM/PM and the day of the month bisede of it...

You do realize that LClock is a very stripped down version of TClock? That is why it takes up basically no resources. It is suppose to do one thing and one thing well and that is make your tray clock look like Longhorn's (which is much easier to read in my opinion). I've had no problems with it from the beginning.

The only reason the calendar is a bit basic so far is because it was just added.

Why should everyone use it? There are a lot of better freeware alternatives, namely all the various TClock spinoffs.

LClock is nothing more than a different font for the tray clock, and a pop-up calendar that does nothing at all, isn't resizable, and doesn't even have a "go to today" button on it.

So LClock also lets you hide the Start button or overlay it with a bitmap; big deal. This is totally Lame.

[Edit: What do you mean this review is "stupid" and "nonsense"? I simply pointed out that this clock is really slim on features. Other clocks can sync the time, provide more-functional calendars, alarms, and much more configurable date and time displays, while *still* being light on CPU and memory usage. This thing does none of that, and is really lacking in its feature set, so I gave it a low rating. That's how real reviews work, kids. You say yourself that it is "basic", and wish there were more options. Try not to contradict yourselves next time.]

Everyone giving the program a one because it doesn't have a lot of fetures shouldn't be even rating it. This program was desgined a little bit ago. It main goal was to make the system clock lock like a longhorn clock using as little memory has possible.
