From my quick test, MG-Shadow seems to be halfway decent, especially when compared to some of the others available in this category.
The main drawback from my point of view is that it's not "network enabled", meaning it can't send logs over the network AND use a backup means of storing logs as well. (I realize you can map a network drive, but if that drive is unavailable, nothing gets logged.)
Not network enabled also means there is no real-time screen-viewing feature, nor any way to send commands or user messages to the system being monitored. So, if you want a way to catch someone doing something NOW, and be able to stop them or warn them, this product isn't for you.
The only log options are to save logs to one directory, and the ability to send logs via email, but no more often than once per DAY. MG-Shadow provides no way to send screen shots via email, so if you use that feature, the only way you will be able to view screen shots is to view them on the system being monitored, or to try using a mapped network drive. Of course, again, if the network drive isn't available, obviously, the screen shots will not be saved. MG-Shadow lets you specify a different directory for screen shots than is used for the other logs.
There is only one program, and one installer. That is, there isn't a program used to monitor, and a separate program used to collect logs and view them.
By the way, the price shown here (as I write this) is $39. However, the author site says "As a limited time offer, you pay only $49 instead of $79".
