For me, none of the previous reviews were really that informative. I don't think MXPLAY should be evaluated as a pure music player, but rather a new music discovery player.
So here's my take on MXPLAY:
Pros:
1) 3D music - Everyone's musical taste is really different - loud, soft, more reverb, less reverb, more bass, etc.
The cool thing about MXPLAY is that it allows each user to change how they listen to each song by manipulating the music in 3D. Some people may find that they can tweak the music to sound better, some people may not be able to tell the difference. But this feature is what sets it apart from the iTunes.
2) Video mashups - You can go to YouTube or Google Video, grab a video, and mix in your own audio. Basically create your own music videos! It's a fun feature that's easy to miss at first.
How useful is this? I don't know, but it's fun to create something new and share it with others.
3) Integrated browser - MXPLAY has a built in web browser that helps you to find music. Just try surfing to one of the blogs linked on their home page or search for music using their search box - immediately a list of the freely available music on that blog or website will pop up. It makes it easy to find new music and add it to your music library.
4) Playlist sharing with streaming audio - You can create a playlist of the streaming music you find and share it with other people.
Cons:
1) Installation worked for me, but some previous posters had problems it seems. But then again, this is beta software so what do you expect?
2) No CD-ripping.
3) No support for protected AAC files (songs bought from iTunes music store). Also no support for syncing with ipod. So I'm still stuck with iTunes.
4) No ID3 tag editing functionality.
Bottom line, this player won't be replacing my primary music player any time soon, but it's got some unique features that make it worth playing around with in my opinion.

Sound? What sound? Nothing special besides moving it around, and moving around it. Moreover, uninstall made Kaspersky Internet Security cry, twice. Disappointed.

Light-years beyond Songbird with insane sound quality. All my blogs and all my music in one player.

Cool Player-
Sounds good, fun to play with the audio. Makes it easy to find music. Haven't seen any problems.

Do not download this software. It does not have the quality advertised.
This software is trying to confuse people with the player of modest fame of XMPLAY which has the best quality of all of the music players out there. Get the original one at (http://www.un4seen.com/).
It is still on the works but the superior sound quality cannot be compared with any other player on the market.

This program would probably be very nice if the music didn't suffer from trying to browse at the same time. I like the idea but right now I think Songbird may be better. I will keep my eye on this program and Songbird because they both seem promising. I rated a 3 because I like the concept but it has a long way to go before its usable, at least for me.

SQLlite errors during installation then another when the program tries to run. Thus making it pointless.
Tried reinstalling it twice same issue.
I'll try again another time but so far, big whoop.

Gave it a try. There's reverb, 3D hmm.. ok. There's no unicode support, I can't enter my email to login cause the @ doesn't work with my keyboard configuration (canadian french). 2 plugins (so far) and not many options (no ReplayGAIN!)
I'm not impressed.
