This software works well. Have used it several times now for work - 5000 legitimate email recipients, no errors. There are plenty of above-the-board reasons why you'd send out bulk email to your clients or a subscription base. Anyone who immediately spits out 'spam' is just ignorant.

While I'm sure this is intended for legitimate mass mailings, OE and most other mail programs already allow some form of mailing list management, so a program like this isn't really necissary. And not all e-mail systems allow one to use a program like this. Some don't permit using an outside server connection, while mail servers may detect this mail sent using this program as spam and not send it on.

Are you joking guys? What spam? This is a completely legitimate software for honest opt-in mailing. Everyone who said SPAM here I invite to explain how should I run my newsletter for 13 000 subscribers? Have you ever subscribed to any newsletter? How is it sent? Using outlook express? Do you understand diference between spam software or newsletter software? Do you know spam technics which are used by spammers and do you see them in this software like using socks proxies, from field rotation etc.? If you don't understand the nature of the Internet and email try to educate yourself a little bit and stop yelling.

I agree with Nit-- too many of y'all are too quick on the draw to assume the worst(you still remember the last election we had, no?).

Also, a lot of spam filters are trash-- i miss a lot of key messages that way...IF i did mass mailings for legitimate purposes, i'd still look for a solution such as this one, etc.
it can also come in useful in countries with oppressive/draconian net controls...

While I haven't installed and utilized the program as yet, don't automatically assume that it can only be used for nefarious purposes. For example, I am a law student and representative for the number one bar review course in the nation. My school won't allow me to utilize their system to disseminate information due to its commercial nature. However, most, if not all, students want to know about the course. In my case, this is ideal since it allows me to put the information out there while allowing those who do not plan to use the service, if there are any, to decline receiving future messages through the unsubscribing feature. Of course, in the first email that I send I will advise students who do not wish to receive information regarding the course to unsubscribe. While you may call it spam, I say consider my particular situation where students, because they know that I am a representative, constantly bombard me with questions throughout the day, every day, which proves to be very inefficient. I have sent out emails the hard way, compiling group lists that gmail will allow and sending messages out, and have not received any complaint. To the contrary, people have heard of the message going out and asked me to add their name to the list.

Boooo! Take this garbage off, Betanews. This is the last thing we need on the web!!

Take a look at the website, one of its features is touting how it can bypass powerful anti-spam programs (SpamAssasin).
