I wish there was clarity if SP1 is needed or not for this update to work properly or if a user can install this new SP2 on a new and unupdated Office 2010 installation.

It's not 1998 anymore. Takes ~10 min to D/L 360 megs. So why whine about it?

And only 360 Meg too. So nice & compact, for this reason alone it gets 3. Installed & runs without any problems.
@ali4ek, you on dial up? It took me 1 minute & 59 seconds. Get a decent connection. Doubling my fibre link speed next month, so should only be 1 minute.

You need to take on board most of the worlds population on on 8 Meg Bit or much less. And I sill think it's a ridiculous size for an 'Office' not an operating system update.
