I have trouble with the icons down next to the clock, they almost always show wrong icons; enabled network show the icon disabled network, volume show audioservice not running, enabled antivirus shows disabled antivirus....and so on. All shows almost the opposite. Else it worked well.

Lots of fatal errors reported around the net, most of them pertaining to language packs.
As for me, I met a C0190003 fatal error related to the updating of AMD64 components (hint: I have a Core 2) which completely hosed my system. Thankfully (and unexpectedly) System Restore could repair my partition and undo the SP1 installation. Apparently I'm not the only user in this situation.

It would have been nice if they uploaded the x86 and x64 versions separately instead of together. It was a little more challenging than usual to slipstream the service pack into Windows 7 RTM with Dism, but I figured it out and it completed successfully.

It worked fine for me, that is, if you don't count the fact that it kills PCTools Firewall. No more internet access until PCTools is uninstalled.
Then it worked ok.

It installed without a hitch. Though i noticed something peculiar.
When i was useing my multi-monitor. It seemed to not be working correctly.
Now, it worked fine before the Sp 1 update.
Which is why i give it a rating of 4

No problems downloading extremely fast download considering I am over the pond a fair way from MS.
All done & dusted. The size of C:\ was smaller after I had removed the backup that before I installed SP1.

Im all for the ISO releases of a Service Pack for Windows because the best thing about it is that it takes all the "guess work" out if your fixing up to install it on a computer and arent sure of what the OS System Type is!
In otherwords the DVD ISO is the best route to go if you plan to deploy on multiple machines, whether it be now or later down the road.

this is not for the average home owner but more for the computer Tech-Administrator-repair, I have used the previous version, and it saves a lot of time. Worked as should.

64-bit? The .iso is for both 32- and 64-bit.
To download and install it may be better than using Windows Updates, given the size of the update (though it will be somewhat smaller as an auto update).
In any case, try to use a UPS, so that you don't risk an ... "update interruptus"

ISO is not for most users, If you are using Windows 7, simply use the "Windows Update" Feature.
If you insist on the ISO, rather then burning (Wasting) a DVD install "Virtual Drive Clone" (http://fileforum.betanew...CloneDrive/1224002998/1) this will make a Virtual CD / DVD Drive and you can "Mount" the ISO image and install from there. (This utility is also handy for mounting Game Images)

Note: Installed SP1 on two (2) systems (Newer) so far, no issues.

When I try to burn the .iso to a DVD using Win7 64-bit, I get an error message that it is not a valid .iso file.

After installing this service pack Im getting a blue screen at bootup, this PC is now useless... sadly some things with Windows never change!

Artem S. Tashkinov, there is no VLK version like XP had because everyone used it for piracy. Why do you even need one? Oh yeah, you want to pirate it too.
It does not have insane memory usage either; learn how caching works.
Windows 7 is not perfect but it's still an excellent OS. Installed SP1 with no issues, though Windows Update is the way to go for most people.

Here comes Windows Vista SP4.
-1 for no VOLUME (no activation) editions
-1 for insane memory usage
-1 for still bearing all the old compatibility cruft
-1 for no true safe mode/clean initial state
etc. etc. etc.
(1) for outstanding hardware compatibility (guess, it's a desktop OS monopoly) and a lot of software (second guess).
