since Windows 8 is designed more for a touch screen or pen type device computer.
During the install you will be prompt to set up a Windows account if you have a old hotmail account that works to. I found that part to be very annoying just t install a OS. That being said ounce the install completes you are left in my opinion with a bunch of stuff on your desktop I will never use . But the good part you can customize it delete delete delete One thing I was surprised for this older laptop is windows found all hardware drivers except flash card reader, but the vista driver worked fine. After playing with it all the good stuff is their still you just kinda have to hunt for it. device manager control panel ect....
I felt that the navigation was unfinished and more busy then it needs to be. I love simplicity ! the OS preformed well for this unit with only 2 gigs of ram and a 1.7 single core cpu . I tried to like it but like a little kid eating his vegetables I could not swallow it, Basically I feel it need to much work and I will stick with Windows 7 has a much better navigation layout to me My experience 19 years I own my own Computer Repair business JC-CR.com I have played with many operating systems in my time. So I'm no noob I guess. Im not a fanboy to no one they all have weak and strong points Apple Windows Linux My current rig is a triple boot OS XP-W7-Zorin linux. I hope this helps develop Windows 8 but will see...

They are gonna policies, and making the minor versions free for owners of the major version, since they'll replace service packs. From thier site http://windows.microsoft...en-us/windows-8/preview .So if you own Win8,then 8.1 is free when it comes out.I haven't had any issues yet, except I miss startmenu, but I got that fixed with another software.
It does say you can't uninstall it,it's why you always make a partition to test,or use a test PC.Shouldn't give a low score because of of something you were warned about ahead of time, geez.

Clean install only.. no upgrade and no downgrade also when the final comes out you can not upgrade to that ... that has been MS policy since windows 7.
.... also hate to say it but it blues screens sometimes for no reason windows 7 never blues screens on same 3 systems.....

Not only can it NOT be uninstalled, but it wiped my Win 8 system so that it was like a clean install - no previously installed apps were present post-install. FFS, what is MSoft trying to do, make Vista look good? Actually, Vista x64 is quite good, the 32-bit version is the dog.
