Works well, supports lots of players, but not worth $20 (or $15). I imagine the developer might actually earn more money overall if they brought the price down. $9.99 sounds more fair for something that's more or less a plug-in.

One of the best lyrics tool thus far. Pulls lyrics for 95% of my music, the rest i can do an outside search and then submit it through the program. Yeah it actually has a price tag but ya get 3 licenses for $10 that you can share with 2 other PCs. Not bad a deal.

Nice program, but it dont support Windows Media Player HomeCinema... At least for me, WMP-HC is simple, easy and have almost all I need. Except Minilyrics.

Works like a charm and the new floating lyrics are great. Only a small glitch in WMP when you only want to see a simple video file. The plugin shouldn't load at all instead of loading and then disappear.

bobad and Cekay: Minilyrics supports WMP, don´t you see the program's description? When you´re installing the app the WMP support is to the final of the installation. WMP and Winamp are the default players for Minilyrics. I use AIMP2 and it's so cool with Minilyrics.

The registration program is optional, the trial never expire, it's a little uncomfortable the nag reminder screen to buy the program, but it's Freeware.

En conclusión, Minilyrics es GRATIS, el registro es opcional y la version de prueba del programa nunca finaliza. Lo puedes usar cuantas veces quieras. Soporta la mayoria de reproductores como Windows Media Player, Winamp, Foobar, Aimp2, XMplay, iTunes, Realplayer, MediaMonkey, etc.

I agree with @hobo05, Minilyrics is a fantastic viewer lyrics. You can create lyrics from the Editor and it's very customizable. I've never had problems using this program.

First of all is this freeware? I came up with registration dialog and the site says 19.95 per copy.

Getting even worse.

It used to have an option not to guess timings but now that option is gone and it automatically highlights, guesses and shows lyrics. There may be a bug in display options. Self Lyrics Editor view is indeed much better than normal displayer.

Removes empty lines automatically. No option for that either.

Jumps to the first lyrics line automatically even if it will be shown minutes later.

There is no useful documentation at all.

@hobo05 you CAN'T put two timestamps other than manual intervention.

- In the text edit mode you can't put timestamps by F7
- In the edit mode you can put timestamps by F7 but ONLY ONCE. If you press twice it replaces with the latest timestamp. Same with CTRL+F7

In Winlyrics, enter edit mode (which is only one) press CTRL+SPACE. Press as much and get as much timestamps. Press at any position in one line and it will add the timing at the begining of the lyric after the previous timestamps. In the same window edit the text, add line breaks. Works like a charm.

It's text editing at all. Mini Lyrics makes it unnecessarly complex.

Wow, @lhdal, I don't know where you've been, but minilyrics DOES support double timestamps, and the syncing is really easy, I hope you've been using the sync button for each line rather than using a stopwatch to write down the times. Minilyrics is awesome, especially when I want to look up those hard-to-find chinese lyrics

I like the customizability of this software. I set it fully transparent and essentially have a karaoke lyrics stream running across the bottom of my monitor

Poor and non friendly lyrics editor. Hard to sync. Impossible to add double timestamps for repeating lyrics.

Custom and made-up format for lyrics which can't be shown correctly in other lyrics and tag software.

Automatically writing "Lyrics is Saved by Minilyrics" in the description of lyrics without asking.

Mediocre online search.

Lyrics can't be displayed if song is removed from playlist. It displays other songs' lyrics instead of removed file.

If you are an archiever don't use this app. It will waste your time.

I agree, it's a great program. Minilyrics can show you the lyrics song in Karaoke Lyrics format. It means that the lyrics are synchronized and you can see them in the meantime you are playing a song in your favorite media player.

This is the 1 Application.... that really thrilled me with its functionality....cause I use MiniLyrics Every Minute.

Other users gave it a BAD rating because, they haven’t used MiniLyrics rally or they didn’t read help files when they didn’t understand.

Its really an great application & its 100% FREE ….DON’T MISS IT

According to the EULA, and the author's website, this is adware. It is also compelete garbage.

Grab Evil Lyrics or some other true freeware application.

Shows potential, but I really wish it would support more players. Its customize menu is kinda buggy for me, and its sloooow on dialup.

Lastly, it totally screwed up foobar2000 on uninstallation.

I like the program better than evillyrics (which is what I use) because it allows more customized display of the downloaded lyrics.

Apparently, according to the MiniLyrics forum, there are different versions of MiniLyrics on their servers (probably due to a mistake of the author). The one that is available from Fileforum is 3.4.1485 (not 3.4.1481 which is how it's labelled) which has the shareware message. But the one that is available from here: http://www.viewlyrics.com/download/minilyrics.exe
is version 3.4.1480 and it does not have the shareware message.
AND
The 1480 version has a new timestamp than the 1485 version (and thus could probably be a mis-named 1486 version).

In other words, MiniLyrics IS STILL FREE! Go on, download it using the link I provided and enjoy the best integrated lyrics program.

Nice program, but I think $25 is a lot for a program to display lyrics. There are a couple of free programs out there, namely Evellyrics. Evellyrics works well, has no adware/spyware, and it's free.

Yes, it was a big confusion about the different versions on different servers, version numbers and wrong informations in the MiniLyrics forum (version # and download links).

That's why I wanted to hear some words from the author and asked some questions (ramian has already reported about this).

This application is designed to display the song lyrics that is being played on a users player application. (Winamp, WMA ect)A data base is se arched and lyrics downloaded if needed. It auto starts when your player is loaded. The online search produced muxed results. I had no doubt John Cougar Mellencamp would be instantly found and knew that Cheech and Chong's Vietnam would not. However I was somewhat surprised John Lennon's Instant Karma could not be located.

The app is easy to use with a minimal learning curve. The size is less then2mb download with a installation that went flawless.

I can't seem to get it to download the lyrics. It seems like it would be great if I could get the lyrics. It says to right click the window and select "Download Lyrics". I did that but it never lists any available lyrics for download. If I click online search it hangs for about 30 seconds and then says the connection attempt failed, the server may be busy. I have tried it with shoutcast streams and with an AeroSmith cd of mine that I ripped into mp3's. No go. I went to the authors site and read the faq but no help for my problem. Clicked on the forum link and got an internal server error. :( I would give it a lower score but it seems like everyone else is getting it to work.

EDIT: I just tried it at home and it works fine. I was at work before. Maybe the firewall at work is blocking it for some reason. Doesn't make much sense. I'll still keep my rating at 4 because evil lyrics works fine at work.

I found MiniLyrics absolutely a delight to use. It found lyrics for all my songs. I gave it's most prominent competitor (EvilLyrics) a go and I found it's user interface a tad complicated compared to MiniLyrics. EvilLyrics refused to load with QCD, but, it did load the lyrics if I actually started EvilLyrics manually. I found the option to adjust the synchronisation of the lyrics and the music on the fly with MiniLyrics very useful. All my lyrics were loaded practically instantly. I actually preferred the program giving me the option to choose an appropriate lyrics choice unlike EvilLyrics as I kept on getting lyrics for a different version (remix) of a song with EvilLyrics, but I got to choose the lyrics I wanted with MiniLyrics. The lyrics editor included with MiniLyrics also proved very useful and is the only free lyrics editor that I know of. As far as my few hours of testing could tell, MiniLyrics supported scrolling of the lyrics with the karaoke word-highlighting effect throughout the song while I didn't see that function in EvilLyrics. I also liked the transparency effect for the lyrics window but again didn't see an option in EvilLyrics. The lyrics window snapping to the edge of my QCD window was also cool, and again, not observed in EvilLyrics. Did I mention the skins? Though not all that many, the 5 or 6 it had provided some sort of variety (not really sure if EvilLyrics supports skins).

Anyway, between the two, I chose MiniLyrics and I'm happy and more than just a satisfied customer.

Not too bad. I did not like having to tell it to download if it found more then one match. Evil just downloads the first one and let you search again if it was not correct. Using Winamp 5.08 with the default modern skin, I was not able to view the media library with this installed. I did not try it with any of the other supported programs.

Apparently, this software must have its traits to be so popular. Believe me, it is very intuitive and easy to use, and its display effect is just cool.

For lyrics search, although I can find 8 out of 10 songs I am listening to, the database still needs to be expanded by more and more users.

I didn't find the program very appealing at all. The interface was lacking, and 4 out of 5 times the timing upon which the IDEA of this program was built on, was completely off, also it eerily and suspiciously reminded me of Evillyrics....lucky I don't know programming or I'd have checked the code myself.
