Publisher's Description
Mmm FREE is a unique utility to configure your Windows menus. Remove menu-items you never use. Put rarely used functions out on a sub-menu. Keep only those functions you often use in a small, tidy base menu. Configuration is very simple, just drag and drop the menu-items where you want them to go.

The install program of mmm is being recognized as a virus by Kaspersky Antivirus. Thats enough reason for me to not use it at all.

Go download "shellmenuview" and "shellexview" - a FREE and lightweight utility that allows you to modify rogue context menu entries!

Must have for people who like to have things the way they like, and i like to have everything the most essential possible.
Some people say it loads too much on RAM, it's 648k on my system now.
I have noticed that it flashes as many times it removes some menu, before freezing the final menu, kinda annoying since you have to wait.

You can opt to turn off "Auto-check for updates", by the way, under Options.

The idea is ok, but I was quite upset with the fact that the program tried to check for an update without even warning me. And in a totally wrong fashion - it won't just try to connect once in a while, let's say once every hour or so: it will hammer the TCP/IP stack with endless queries until it can connect.
I don't think I'm a smart coder, but aggressively polling a resource is quite a dumb practice, especially for such an unimportant process like mmm.
Fix the thing and come back with a better version.

A great program that doesnt leave you searching for keys in the registry, although it does take up a whopping (sarcasm) 1720K with the pre 2.2 release.
My only gripe is that the Mmm strip isnt a part of the menu and with menu delay turned low in XP, often I cannot get to context menus when they open on the left side instead of the right side...

Your program is actually pretty decent, but as most end-users can attest to, we don't like runnign extra processes in the background.
mmm Free takes 11+ mb of RAM. This figure is outrageous given it's remarkably limited function.
Personally, if you could find a way to remove the context menus altogether WITHOUT having to run a porgram, I'd pay $15-20 for such a thing. I'm sure others would, too.

I am the author of Mmm FREE. Glad to see so many people liking the program.
To a couple of reoccuring points in your posts:
Mmm does not spy or 'phone home'. It is looking for an update of itself. If this scares you, turn off the option "Auto-check for update".
Some menu-items can be permanently removed (even while Mmm is not running). For other menu-items there is no straightforward way of permanently removing them. If this feature will be (partially) supported in the future, it will be in Mmm+.
Note also that Mmm+ requires a lot less memory/resources to run. There has to be some incentive to get the + version. Can't give it all away for free. ;)

I emailed the author and he/she said 'not possible' or something to that extent. Which sounds like an excuse to me (don't mean to sound harsh, my appologies). There is definately a way to make the items removed stay removed when the program is shut down.

Just another program to have running on every boot & therefore hogging system resourses...
Find a way to make the menu options stick even when the program itself is not open, and you've got yourself a 5 star program.

Orbitration's right, it works just fine. I'm running an AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz, 1 GB SDRAM, and Windows XP SP2... no problems whatsoever. The program is slick and effective. And whoever said "this program is so useless there isn't even a crack for it yet" -- maybe because it's FREE. And why does it try to phone home, you ask? Well, it's a little thing called "Auto-check for updates", which can be disabled if you take the time to open the program and click Options...

I couldn't possibly agree with Orbitration more. My PC is running XP SP2 on a laptop with a Centrino 1.8 processor and this new version runs just fine..
My memory usage is 832KB.. Extremely acceptable in my opinion.
My only gripe is that I wish the "Rarely used" and Mmm config options would be at the bottom of the list.. I use the arrow keys alot and find it irritating that these items are the top two options.
