Publisher's Description

Mortgage Calculator is a program that allows you to list, evaluate and compare various mortgage offers. For each offer it computes a number of values including monthly payment, total sum to pay, the amount of principal and interest left on a particular date, and the total amount of interest for the whole loan term. It generates an amortization schedule which shows how the amount of the debt decreases throughout the loan term.

Well-designed except for two things: (1) its interface is cluttered by annoying popups rather than a more coherent tabbed interface, and (2) does not allow for one-time payments, e.g., what if I want to make a one-time payment of $2000 instead of $1000 for my mortgage this month — Mortgage Calculator does not allow me to edit for that contingency (nor for interest adjustments mid-loan) and thus is essentially useless in this first (1.0) release.

Finally, the program is priced at $40 on its website, not $20.
