Mosaic is an application that brings Metro UI to your desktop. It is a set of live widgets that shows some content from the web or from your PC. Some widgets (e.g. people widget, weather widget) have fullscreen extended view called hub.

First of all: it runs really really slow. For those unfamiliar with it, it tries to mimic the Windows mobile 7 interface stile (and Windows 8). Do not expect tough the same level of smoothness - the interface overall is not responsive enough.
I am not going to comment on the Metro Interface itself - that is a review for Windows 8, when available; the future will tell if it will be a success or not. All I can can say for now is that is a big change and not everyone will be ready for it.
Since Unity (the similar tile style desktop for Linux) was received with reserve to say the least, I am expecting the same for its Windows counterpart.
2 starts for the effort, -3 for the performance.
