MovieJack converts Video-DVDs to VCD, X-VCD, S-VCD, X-SVCD, AVI (DivX or Xvid) or Handheld movies in faster than realtime in a "near DVD" quality. It rips to the proper format without user interaction, for example fullscreen (4:3) or widescreen (16:9) and supports NTSC and PAL. An additional feature is an integrated CD recording engine with support up to 99min CD-R media and with the unique support of index markers for SVCD and VCD.

Brilliant!!!! A DVD compression tool which not only works but even a dummy like me can use. I have tried other tools e.g. DVD Wizard Pro/DVD Squeeze and did not get on with them(DVD Squeeze would take 24 hours to compress a movie only to have an error at the end. Frustrating!!!!!!) With Moviejack it takes approx 1hr 30min for a 2 hour film and it indexes the output files so you lose none of the movie as well as allowing the second file to be rewound to your needs.
