Changed the way my favorite replacements work. They are no better than Chrome addons now.
Opening new tab causes the browser to become non-responsive. This last is so annoying I stopped using Firefox altogether and went back to chrome.

Bottom Line: Dissappointed with version 57 so far.

I will still give it a 3 because there is some good left in it.
Used to be my favorite browser. Now there is nothing to really make me want to continue using it.

Bottom Line: OK, I've been trying this for a couple of weeks now, or since the first Beta. Just updated to Beta 6. It is definitely faster than previous versions of Firefox, bit at what cost?

The Web Extension addons are PATHETIC in comparison to what can be done with the old XUL system. (Sorry Developers, but it's not your fault). The WE addons are very limited in what they can do, and it's sad to see once great add-ons being reduced to just a shell of what they once were. They are unable to import/export things like cookies, form history etc, they can't change the interface at all, no scroll bar changes, lame themes. The list goes on...

I actually DO like FF57, but it's inadequate add-ons and desire to be a clone of google chrome just leaves me wanting to stay with WATERFOX, at least until its author throws in the towel with the rest of them.

Bottom Line: Finally tried this infamous 57 version. Its as bad as I thought it would be. None of my add on's came over. or my themes. So your stuck with that terrible user interface. Speed, come on, I haven't noticed any big speed increase with any of these updated browsers. FF will be added to IE, Edge, and Opera as browsers that have jumped the shark.

Bottom Line: Yes the browser is now fast, really fast, and its far too late for that to make any difference. If they had worked on speed 4 years ago they just have had a chance, now it way too late. And to get the speed by sacrificing all the addons? Insanity. Currently in the addon store there appear to be about 65 addons compatible with 57.. thats pathetic. Looks like Firefox is the new IE. Gawd damn why are tech companies so idiotic??

Bottom Line: I am still using WATERFOX as my primary browser, but I am trying to make this FF57 work out. It DOES seem more responsive than previous versions.

On the down side, Ugly squared off tabs, Can't find replacements for about 80% of my previous add-ons because the authors say that the webextensions are very LIMITED in what they can do. Install this and then stroll through the Mozilla Add-ons site. Page after page with only 1 or 2 compatible. Gone are Classic Theme Restorer, Findbar Tweak, Cookies Manager+. , Clippings, IMacros and the list goes on. I am trying to give it a chance. I'll bump it up to TWO stars. This is the Future??

Bottom Line: @Monkey_Punch It's not I'm against change if it improves the browser, but web extensions just do not have the same capability as the current XUL system. So many authors are just throwing in the towel or creating web extension add-ons that just simply can't do what they did with the old system

I've used Firefox since it rose from the ashes on Netscape long ago. I've Preached to others how great it was. The one thing that made Firefox stand out above the other browsers was the ability to customize it and make it your own browser. That is becoming a thing of the past and this browser may very well meet the same fate as Netscape.

It's Waterfox for me, as it's developer has forked off of previous mozilla builds and allows the old extensions.
"All of the other browsers are going in this direction" That's just it, why even use FIREFOX if it is no different from chrome. Go ahead and follow FF off of that cliff.

Bottom Line: Gawd! Boo hoo, your ancient and no longer supported add-on no longer work. All other browsers are going in this directon but you don't see their users complaining. Tell the author to convert to Webextensions and join the 21st century. It's like listening to XP users complaining that web sites and other apps don't work right anymore. No *hit! Get a modern OS and get with the times! The web and the way browsers interact with it will be *nothing* like it is in a few years. To keep malicious web sites and other bad guys at bay, the browser world has to change. Adapt or die.

Everyone tried to tell you MOZILLA, that the ONE thing that made Firefox stand out was the ability to customize it to make it your browser. That is now a thing of the past and unfortunately Firefox, which I have used since it rose from the ashes of Netscape is soon about to meet the same fate as Netscape. FF has always been my default browser until the new versions came out. It's useless. I've been using Cyberfox and it works very well and d is my default browser. Why does Cyberfox work and FF doesn't? when FF comes up with a new version like the latest ff48 final. i always give it a shot, with the same unusable results, yet other reviewers say that all is fine and dandy. Could it be Win 10? My rating for FF is zero. It doesn't even rate a 1.

I recently upgraded from FF 42.0 to FF 43.0 from Freeware files. I found that my computer was working extremely slow after installation. Since I never had a problem with any FF versions over the years, I didn't suspect that FF 43.0 was the problem. As I was about to do a system restore, I reinstalled FF 42.0 and what a difference. Once again, my home page loaded quickly and page rendering was up to snuff once again. I'm running on a Lenovo G50-70 laptop with the intel i5 processor. My laptop is less than a year old. Anyone else have the same problem with FF 43.0?

Running happily on my old dinosaur E6500. We'll likely see it go to 64-bit if they can figure out the 32-bit > 64-bit plugin stuff. We've only ever had a 32-bit Firefox and now that plugin and add-on devs have a shot at native 64-bit, they're playing catch up. The inclusion of SQLite 3.8.11 (https://www.sqlite.org/releaselog/3_8_11.html) will yield even better performance. Win win!

I thought I'd give Firefox a go after being ditching It several years ago & although the speed & performance has improved greatly there is one major issue I'm having, Plugins such as Java, Silverlight & VLC Media Player are not showing up In the plugins tab In the extensions manager. I've been a long time user of Cyberfox & I've never had this issue when using Firefox bases web browser & all the plugins I use are compatible with 64bit browsers.

But they are undermining that great foundation by deciding to work with Chrome extensions as well. We need to maintain a base of Firefox specific addons/extensions to encourage people to maintain those. If Mozilla just starts aping everything Chrome, there's no reason to stick with Firefox at all.

I'm going to agree with robmanic44, this sucker is fast. I tested 32-bit vs. 64-bit on the same machine (Latitude E6400, 4GB RAM, Intel T9800) using speed-battle.com: 32-bit scored in the upper 600s to lower 700s, 64-bit was in the upper 700s. Nice job Mozilla!

This version, in my opinion, still needs some work. Version 36 was fine, but with 37 there is a lot of lag time with any pages containing flash content. Sometimes it stalls completely. I'm sure the problems will be ironed out before final release, but on my system anyway, I may have to revert back a version.

This is running blindingly fast on my Windows 7 x64 PC, all my extensions seem to work fine with it.
Only problem I have is that the Flash plugin occasionally doesn't seem to work.

Well, it didn't seem to break anything that was working fine in v34. Didn't notice any speed improvements or faster rendering. The new share icon is now there. HTTP2Draft is on by default. Looking forward to v36 though: Sqlite 3.8.7.2, decreased memory usage (see bugzilla 1048044 & 1084114) , nice performance bump. v37 will get even more love, hopefully regular HTTP2 will be enabled by default by then. HTTP2 goes live this February for a faster Interwebs. WIN!

Working nicely on my E6400 with AB+ and Flashgot. Many of the OMTC issue have been remedied and 99% of them are related to people having old Intel/ATI drivers. No issues for my NVidia card.

Your statement is a bit vague without knowing what you're doing o rhow your browser is set up. I'm using 255MB RAM on a fresh start of FF 34.0b11 with two extensions on CNNs page. Still way less than Chrome on the default Google page. It's hard to keep the browser lean when new features are added but bugs 1084114, 1048044 and the forthcoming update to SQLite (bug 1091076) should lower memory and improve speed a lot.

The appearance of black boxes/artifacts was actually by design only in beta7. There was a bugzilla bug that specifically mentions they turned something off in beta 7 to gather some stats on the black box/artifacts issue and then were turning it back on in beta 8. Try with beta 8 and see if it happens again. Workign well for me.

Australis was and always will be a stupid imitation of Google Chrome! The new Firefox discards customizability for a Chrome like simplicity - Just horrible! Getting back customization with add-ons is just lame.

F*ck Mozilla for ruining something great! As long as Mozilla is happily driving the Chrome train, the only real alternative is Seamonkey. This browser shows that customization is no thing of the past and that devs still care for more advanced users.

And no, Google did not take the UI idea from Mozilla, Mozilla is the one who is borrowing the simplification concept from them. They also took customizability from Opera!

At least this was a better concept as forcing the user to install some addons to be allowed to make advanced UI customizations!

Fast and reliable browser. No memory leaks and doesn't crash. The UI is different than Google Chrome and the browser is customizable. You can also use classic theme restorer. Very nice to see Firefox back as #1. :)
Am in IT and have tested this browser on over 75 computers and it worked beautifully on them all. Highly recommend this browser as an IT professional.

To the FF Haters: Try adding a bookmarks sidebar to chrome. You can't except with a very flaky extension. I switched back to Firefox after using Palemoon for over 2 years. The notion that PM is faster is a farce, and for me Firefox is more stable than any of the other browsers. Each update, it gets even better!

Nobody likes the changes that firefox has made the last few years. Thats why they are done. They will continue to lose market share and be pretty much irrelevant in the future like Netscape, Winamp and AIM. Interface is everything. If if looks like crap and is next to impossible to navigate, you have a major problem. And stop it with the speed. There is no difference between any of the major browsers. Unless your counting like a tenth of a second difference. Pale Moon and Seamonkey are the browsers that still hold us powers users on. Chrome for the simpler crowd. This new firefox has joined the crappy new Opera browser and the last 4 versions of IE.

Jeez, really, it's just the tabs that are bothering everyone? Really? The same whiners who cried when Microsoft got rid of the precious Start button and replaced it with...an image. It's because tabs UI look better on tablets and having one uniform look across all platforms save developers hours of time instead of maintaining two or more UIs. These same people will cry when Google changes the UI on Android 5. And the rest of us will scream and shout "You can change it!" but it will fall on deaf ears. Again. Pitiful.

As for this version, rendering is hella faster than all the other versions. Those annoyances from 29-31 are gone for me. My addons work flawlessly. I wish the Ui sucked more so I could join the Firefox Sucks! bandwagon but, alas...it works for me.

If I could I'd give you a 5 star rating! Do you remember when you could tell which browser was on the screen just by its look? Now they all look the same. Chrome, IE, Firefox, even Avant browser look almost identical. The only positive thing I can say of Avant now is that I can still move the tabs where I want them to be, right under the other bars and right on top of the viewing window. Firefox's tabs used to be movable also but no more. So, a 1 star for Firefox untill that changes and gets a new look instead of a morph of chrome and IE wich I consider a pain to use anyway.

I actually switched FROM Palemoon to the newer FF after giving the new interface a try.

Try enabling browser.cache.use_new_backend in about:config. It is the new http cache. much faster! had a power outage the other day and I did not lose 1 byte of my current cache. I know a lot dont like the new interface, but it's still 100X better than chrome

At first, the new FF seemed just fine. I didn't mind the new Chrome-like look at all. However, as time went on, FF would crash regularly, along with extensions not working and customization has gone missing (toolbar buttons, Google translate, etc.) For now, I'm back to Chrome, which is slower in page rendering, but it doesn't crash and everything works. We'll see what the 31.0 final brings.

Quite a few of my scripts and extensions are not working since Australis' release. This is the very reason I tried to stick with Opera for as long as I could.

Unfortunately the CTR extension, while allowing more customizing options, still does not restore the complete flexibility firefox had pre version 29.

Any performance improvements people claim are negligible on my end and the inclusion of DRM and soon to be ads in the default new tab seem to make for a bleak future.

I actually use Cyberfox which is a great alternative BUT sadly, in spite of them saying they would not include Australis, they have with CTR included.

Used this browser for years prob cos I like the bookmark aspect of it. Despite all these releases it still frequently crashes especially on playing a video.. Its time to move to another browser as the problem since v4 has never been rectified.

Very stable release. I like the new GUI now after I gave it an honest try. Best thing about Firefox is IT IS NOT CHROME. Nor is it a copy of chrome's interface. I tried Chrome for a couple of weeks and the new Firefox is still 10X more customizable than Chrome. Kudos to the develepers !!!

There was a serious bug in 28+ that, when you shut down Firefox, it would still be running and you'd have to End Task on firefox.exe. It really cropped up in 29 (bug 965309) and annoyed the piss out of a lot of people, myself included. Thankfully they've fixed it in this new beta. The browser itself seems to start up a bit faster than 29 did and overall seems to be performing faster in rendering pages than 29 did. Minus one star for suffering with the regression in 29+ for so long.

Haven't downloaded any of the FF 30 betas, but have been using FF 29.1 The UI is fine and at first 29.1 was running smoothly. As time went on, there were not infrequent crashes and page rendering started getting slow.

I downloaded Waterfox 28.0 64bit and it's working just fine. When FF 30 final rolls in, I'll give it a spin and see if it can maintain the smoothness of Waterfox. Oh, for you who have a UI problem, Waterfox, at least for now uses the FF 28.0 UI.

I have used each of the Australis Beta Versions beginning with 29.0b1. The UI is quite different & takes some time to learn how to use it & to adjust to using it. The browser is very smooth, speedy & simply does the job it was designed to do. I'm using it on WinVista SP2 & look forward to future releases & improvements. I recommend users give it a try. Australis uses MORE memory than the ESR branch so trying to convince me that the changes are resource related is like pissing down my back and telling me it's raining. The numbers don't lie, zealots on the other hand....Also, they plan to add more animations and those always magically make for less memory consumption. By the way, FIrefox took many of their ideas from Opera's innovations so it isn't as if taking from Chrome would be something new for Mozilla.

As for this, It's like Windows 8 all over again. A new piece of kit that most are scrambling to restore practical functionality to. And thankfully, plugin developers are doing just that in spite of many of them saying that they might not bother. It does beg the question if companies are abandoning their current user base in search of a new demographic, the finger painting crowd. Improvements and change are not always synonymous. The formerly great Opera being a great example of that.

Again, the browser for what it does is about a 3-4 but stripping away customization hurts work flow and for that, it's a 1. I mean seriously, who thinks non cascading bookmarks is a productive idea? Plugins that restore functionality are not a part of this download and that's all we should be reviewing. Actually, I'll bump it up 1 for not going the frustratingly daft omnibar route.

Fine, had the dates of other users was wrong. Fine. Fail. I've been reading beta news since the early 2000s but didn't register to write reviews until recently because some reviewers are just missing the forest for the trees and *have* to be argued.

The hatred towards Australis isn't merited and it is not trying to be a Chrome clone. Google has ripped off some much Firefox code and so many features it's hard to say they built Chrome from scratch. In the past few years, they borrowed each others ideas and each others code. Some consider it a compliment. Others, not so much.

The whole point of Australis is to reduce memory consumption and improve speed through the projects named Snappy/Memshrink (now just called Performance) which it has accomplished. Memory usage from the old UI was very high and on top of that so many add-on authors never updated their toolkits and their add-ons would just ruin the Firefox experience. Then, users would complain about how bad Firefox would suck or how much memory it would consume. The culprit would invariably be the add-on. The more complex the UI, the more resources it had to use. So it was either keep the complex UI, use kludges to work around add-on problems that sucked memory, caused hangs or other problems, or slim down the UI to make it less memory hungry and force developers to fix their sh*t add-ons to appease all the people complaining about memory usage and other problems. You can't have it both ways. I agree with Mozilla doing that. It's going to take some getting used to. But to not know all the underlying reasons as to why these changes and decisions were made and still complain about them is disingenuous at best.

Australis was in development for a long time and you can go through and read the countless bug and memshrink/snappy reports attributed to add-ons and UI issues. Is Australis perfect or to everyone's liking, no. Does it change the way people's add-ons appear, yes. Can you theme Firefox or use another add-on to bring back the old UI look. Yes. Can you stick to 28 or an ESR release and have the old UI? Yes. There are options. You're complaining as if you don't have any.

So if you're insisting on rating it 1-star because you hate the UI but the browser is "ok" and haven't lifted a finger to customize it, make it your own, *or* stick to version 28 or ESR. Reseach why Mozilla went in this direction or you make yourself look ignorant.

As for Firefox 30b1, it seems to be working the same as 29. Am not seeing browser hangs on shutdown like I was with 29 beta/RC. Rendering seems a bit snappier. I only use a couple add-ons (Adblock Plus and FlashGot) so I am not being hit so bad with the lack of them being in the tool bar. Adblock plus still appears on my toolbar and Flashgot still works fine.

so yeah, a failed argument to say the least.

One of the things I've always disliked about Firefox were the updates breaking plugins. Well, Australis takes that a step further and breaks quite a few of your customizations as well. Unless some clever person(s) creates some plugins to restore some basic features that are removed with this UI dumbing down, I will need to run somewhere else in my efforts to get away from Chrome and it's ever growing clone army.

Realistically the browser is still about 3 stars but the UI choice direction hinders work flow and the decision to do so is worth -100 stars. It doesn't even look better and the lack of any background tab makes it difficult to read with some themes and especially on Windows 7 aero.

As for the browser, I think we'll see some growing pains with the new UI but after using it for a bit through the 9 beta, it's growing on me. I wish they'd put the options panel icon (the three horizontal lines) on the left side instead of the right since it's closer to the URL bar and doesn't require so much mouse movement for me to get to it. I am experiencing some shutdown hangs though since going from beta 9 to the RC. Beta 6 seemed much faster than this RC. Some fixes got backed out and other fixes didn't make it but will inversion 30. Could have been a better release IMHO.

Version 1.0 of Firefox was released in Nov 9, 2004. I started using the Beta releases even prior to that. I have been faithful to the Fox, preaching to friends to make the switch and defending it on message boards. That was then and now is now. I am transitioning to Chrome (which I hate) as I speak. The big downfalls of this software:

#1 I don't like the new Australis interface. They're just trying to copy chrome.

#2 (and the main reason I'm leaving Firefox) Apparently the CEO of Mozilla Corp. held the personal opinion that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Despite the fact that the g** employees of mozilla said that he treated them with the utmost respect, the fact that he held this opinion was enough for the organization to force his resignation.

The Libtards who want to control peoples opinions can have the browser, but I will be using another.

Significant changes are not always easy, but the browser is performing very smoothly overalll for me; especially considering it's still in beta. No, it is because Mozilla is wanting to clone the Chrome experience. They do that since Chrome has started to rise with switching over to Google's rapid release model after Chrome shot forward in version numbers.

Mozilla has since that time started to clone all Chrome features of which Mozilla thinks they have been pushing Chrome forward. One of these features is minimalism and low UI customizability.

I have to admit it is true, that WAS the success of Chrome, but this concept can not be taken over 1:1 by Mozilla. The target group is something different. Chrome users are only wanting to care about the Internet experience. Firefox users like it more complex with options to make the browser "their own".

Anyway, Australis is the reason why i am now using Maxthon and Pale Moon with Seamonkey as backup in the case that something happens to Pale Moon.

Mozilla's own version of Chrome.. I will use that never ever. Not even with Classic Theme restorer. If i would have wanted Chrome's minimalism i would already be using Opera. Because Chrome.. i would never use that!

One of the *main* reasons you're seeing the new theme is to be more in line with developing Firefox on a multitude of platforms. So rather than develop many different themes to work and appear nice on Desktops, Tablets, Phones, etc, it's less work to just make one universal theme. Of course, there is the great likelihood that someone will bring back the old theme you know and love but, GASP, you might have to wait a bit for it. So rather than piss and moan about the theme, stay on Firefox ESR or 27 and quit whining. You sound like a guy who would complain about getting a free Ferrari because you didn't like the color.

As for 29b4, it's running really nice for me on my old E6500. Every recent version has gotten better and better. As for the new UI, it's not that different from what everyone else is doing. Firefox has had a few UI changes that took getting used to, this is just another one. A lot of work has gone into the UI theme not just visually but under the hood. It's mainly to save on memory and improve speed but d-bag knee-jerk reactions like Artem's wouldn't know that. I followed the Snappy project--now called Performance---and Memshrink project for many years and UI was part of it. And like all Mozilla projects, if you don't like the theme, you can change it to something you like.

They have changed the interface quite a bit. It appears that the status bar below is gone. Also, looks like I cannot add the text underneath the icons anymore either. Do not know what has been tweaked under the hood of this browser, but no rendering problems thus far. The tabs for the pages are also rounded off. The winds of change are blowing in the Mozilla camp.

For all of you who've been experiencing the font corruption issue on AMD hardware (and a few select other video cards), this beta finally fixes the issue. Microsoft changed something fundamental in D2D that caused the whole thing but it took a *LONG* time to discover exactly what it was in the code. Also, memory consumption should be through the floor now. If you were hitting memory limits, this should help with all the morons who insist on putting up 8 megapixels images all over their GD sites. Still the best browser for my needs and getting faster with every version. This one blows away Firefox 25 for me.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 25.0b9 on WinVista SP2 & it's running smoothly without problems for me. I'm very pleased overall with the performance of the browser & look forward to using future new versions. Kudos to Mozilla Firefox developers--keep up the good work!!

Beta 10? Wow! Working feverishly to get v24 ready for Extended Support Release status. I'm getting overly anxious to kick the tires around on this one.

Still not happy that Mozilla got rid of Javascript options, and even worse, sets the various 'unchecked' advanced options back to 'checked(or enabled in about:config) upon upgrade. I know they are trying to resolve the issue of dummies unchecking what they should not be unchecking(like Javascript altogether), but I don't want an AOL type, dummy-proof browser as a result. Why couldn't they make Javascript always enabled(dummy-proof) and left the other advanced options up to the user?

It seems with these beta versions, you get one that works quite smooth and then after a few more beta version, they start running slow!

Especially with flash games, it can go crazy on you sometimes.

After running fox for a few hours, it tends to hog more memory, thus can make fox a little unstable and slow. The more you surf on the net, the more fox hogs away. It don't flush itself even.

I not aiming the issue towards how much memory is in the system, i have plenty, i am just uncertain if fox goes slow' the more it keeps stored.

I even unsure if the settings for fox and the performance of it gets touched. which causes it to run slow. Fox is supposedly to be fast , since you doing all these updates every month, its going a bit iffy jiffy.

I been using fox since the birth of it. in my own judgement, it the best. but is today's implements of over net applications and over coded programs, that work in tandem with this browser, making fox a little troublesome.

Firefox 23b8 seems to me a more polished version of what 22 was supposed to be. Start time has improved and rendering is even faster than with 22. Working well with my AdBlock Plus and FlashGot. Looking forward to the finish product.

The ability to manipulate this browser by way of stylish allows me to get this close to Opera in layout. Simple Mail seals the deal but this really is slower than all of the other browsers.

It's also worth noting that not only does it seem that Chrome has more extensions available, but the Firefox community seems to be giving up and and addons are not being updated with the same vigour. That's probably because of Firefox's breaking of them when updating, a mistake Chrome doesn't make. Chrome's java engine is also quite a bit better

One of the main innovators from Opera has joined Mozilla so that makes things very promising

A marked improvement in speed with this version over 19.x and earlier releases. A lot of performance boosting work from the Snappy project (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Performance/Snappy) is really making Firefox faster and use less memory with each release. Why is there no native 64-bit release? See http://goo.gl/lL9sy. 32-bit browsers on 64-bit OSes aren't going to hit that 4GB ceiling any time soon.

Agree 100% with -Lord- Stop this silly quick release monthly beta system & get the program sorted, always something good coming in some future version, at this rate we are going to be at version 32 in a year.

As regards the comments from Bala which are fair enough but 99.99% of users don't know about ESR & those are the people who get their Firefox updated on a monthly basis whether they like it or not as they will also have ended up with the maintenance system too.

And seriously, other browsers are only up to like versions 9 or 10... and they've been around longer. Maybe you guys should fully develop ONE version and actually get it to the point where it's actually freaking working properly... in addition, where's the 64 bit support? That little tidbit right there puts Firefox BEHIND THE TIMES.

@Bala7, thanks for the heads up on the ESR releases. Much appreciated. Didn't even know there was such a thing established by Mozilla, which is why our frustrations actually weren't really all of our own making. Without knowledge of the ESR's, we were stuck with unsecure older versions when not wanting the latest and so-called greatest(and this time, buggy) version. Hence, I am now updated to Firefox 17.0.2.

There is NO reason to upgrade every single new release. Your frustrations are all of your own making. I would suggest the ESR > branch which is stable and solid enough for enterprise use.

ufff another beta update, this is getting boring and I am now growing tired of this. I am also in process of looking at other browsers, this is getting old now and I also do not like the fact that they can turn things on and off at will. If I want something turned off I can do it myself. I do not like other controlling what I use and I cold care less their reasoning.

Beta's now just for the sake of it, proper beta testing requires an unknown time frame, if there is a speed improvement coming in version 20 (though it's always in some future version that things will get much better) why faff about with silly insignificant changes & get on with it - Firefox is losing users by the droves with this so called rapid release cycle - Mozilla has now IMHO lost the plot ~

BTW, version 18 was a big letdown. No real improvement in speed at all. Now they say version 20. Yea right, sure sure. Me, I went back to Firefox version 17.0.1. Same goes for Adobe Flash... went back to v11.2 because 11.5 crashed and burned on me and saw no real improvement since Flash version 11.2 anyway. I'm tired of the constant updates. I'm a savvy internet user, I really, really doubt I'll have security issues. Only MS security updates from now on. I've got other things protecting me anyway, including OpenDNS.

While I have always regarded Firefox as one of the better browsers that for the most part works well for me as does Pale Moon. But now I think I am growing tired of their incessant updates. I no more get updated and they have a new beta or something else. I know they have good plugins and extensions and all that, but enough is enough.. I like this version, it is faster than some other release betas.

I have had some issues with firefox before, webpage not loading, i had to go back 1 page and then forwards 1 page for the web page to load properly. Never new the cause of this issue, is ok with this release.

I would like to see a internet optimizer built into firefox and a speedy little monitor bandwidth built in. I know you can download appz,

I am really loving this release and its speed boost. If there is a decent 64 bit version, I may switch. One thing that I would still love to see is each tab in its own process to boost speed more. Why will they not implement this and release an official 64 bit release? This is what it needs to beat Chrome!

I'm really getting fed up with this rapid release cycle & the never ending breaking of extensions etc. Firefox is getting more like Chrome as time goes by - Ditching Firefox on this & all PC's I maintain. I'm not going to continue to defend this system.

@smanofsteel76 - Mozilla have suspended work on the 64 Bit Firefox which put's unnecessary limits on Firefox because of the ancient inherent memory limitations of a 32 bit system - Not a good idea from my point of view as just about all installs are now 64 bit.

There is however Pale Moon which is a modified Firefox clone & there is a 64 bit version:

Seems like a minor update over 16.x but launching seems a bit faster on my old D610. Page load and rendering is about the same as 16.x. Some new speed and performance goodies are coming in 18.0 so I look forward to that version.

I doubt the 'Social Integration' being introduced in Firefox 17 will be optional. The extra bells and whistles will most likely be a step back in overall performance for Firefox. The only improvement that matters at this point is the new javascript being introduced in Firefox 18. I don't do betas, so if I end up hating the 'Social Integration' in Firefox 17 final, I might just give Chrome a try again. If the installation isn't optional, hopefully there are options either in the options menu or about:config to disable the social integration 'features'.

This new 'introduction' rates 4 stars currently. That might change to 3 stars.
