I've never been a big Mozilla fan, but this thing is fantastic. With the theme cofiguration I did, I now have one of the most beautiful browsers on the net. It is rapidly becoming more flexible than even Opera and I really like Opera.

like netscape (of course) boasts good interface and much prettier than IE, but doesn't handle some applets/scripts well...not all bad.
Worth downloading

Still the best internet suite. The new fetures in mail are very nice. Especialy deleting mail from POP servers after x days. I was waiting for that an now it is here. Awsome.

Mozilla is a fine Linux browser, coming prepackaged with most Linux distros. Still, I'm reserving my 5 stars for the final version of Mozilla's Firebird (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firebird)
It's faster and slicker than Mozilla, with a few bugs to work out (version .61). BTW, there's no need to bash Micro$oft's IE. They don't make a browser for UNIX/Linux, and since that's my OS of choice why worry about something that's of no consequence (at least to me).

ie is bloated in that it takes up so much hard drive space.

This is an excellent Linux browser. I use it for a long time in Linux and they have really improved the performance in latest builds. Excellent work!

great linux builds, now with TT support

djdanska

djdanska reviewed v0.9.9 on Mar 11, 2002

Best browser in my opinion, fast easy and just nice to look at. When used with the quick start, its just as fast as ie.

espectro

espectro reviewed v0.9.6 on Nov 21, 2001

The development between 0.9.5 and 0.9.6 was a complete disaster. Lots of regressions. Thankfully, they managed to fix them alongside some nice new features.

Still there are lots of issues that need to be fixed alongside some needed features, but i think this can be done by march-april 2002 when mozilla 1.0 should ship

My mistake. I've corrected the problem with the page rendering, so it appears to render properly now. Still not quite a smooth install, as I got quite a few script errors.

espectro

espectro reviewed v0.9.2 on Jun 29, 2001

Modern theme is prettier, some important bugs fixed, some nice new features like the help app dialog.
On the bad side, some problems with java and flash in recent builds tell me to watch out for those pages, although i havent had problems with either one so far. Also the linux version is 2 mb smaller in size! Only 10.5mb now

espectro

espectro reviewed v0.9.1 Beta on Jun 8, 2001

It's getting more stable with time. There are still tons of bugs and even some old bugs crawling in and new bugs appearing in new builds (hey, making software it's difficult) but i have faith in this browser and it has become my official browser

See review in "Mozilla for Windows" :) But specific to Linux, this really does seem to be a rock-solid and fast build, and definitely an improvement over 0.9. I'm still torn between the two great browsers of Linux (Mozilla and Konqueror), but this does look very promising. And if the two browsers are going to compete, even better in my opinion :)

bruper

bruper reviewed v0.9.1 Beta on Jun 8, 2001

just deleted older version (8.1) because it was too sluggish but this is great version. now opens faster than netscape 4.7

espectro

espectro reviewed v0.9 on May 8, 2001

WOW! Now this IS a performance overhaul. It loaded even
faster than konqueror and i think it was pretty close to IE
I will give it 4 out of 5; when i see the final product with
plugins and more mime stuff built in and if it keeps following
this track i will give it 5 star rating
