some subscribers like xsnred should be required to pass a minimum IQ test before being allowed to write reviews.
Actually they should not be allowed to own a computer!

Been using MyUninstaller for years and am happy that it works well in Vista. Great to see Nirsoft still seveloping this app.

I have used a previous version of this. Enjoyed it till I got Total Uninstaller. Now I enjoy TU more. Only if this one had an install monitor.
Aside what TU does. This program rates up there with it.

This isnt meant to be a complete uninstaller tools. Its just a very fast alternative to Add/Remove Programs.

Needs much work. And, frankly, there is no reason to switch from Revo Uninstaller. Revo has quickly become the gold standard for uninstallers - I haven't found any other freeware or payware that beats it.

Still needs a lot of work.

It's free, it's fast, it's handy, but it's deeply imperfect. For example, in some cases, it incorrectly initiates an application's change or repair function, rather than its uninstall function. Because of this bug--and no, I don't care if you know what I'm talking about or have experienced it yourself--I still need to revert to Add/Remove sometimes.

RevoUninstaller is the best I've seen. It will scan your hd AND registry for leftovers (& then delete them if you tell it to). Revo incl. startup info disabler deleter killer as well a reg cleaner & junk file cleaner, plus some system tool shortcuts & a 'hunter' overlay icon for quick uninstall etc.
For a 'review' try Parmavex WinAudit Freeware-rocks.
Both of the above are portable.

Super.
Much better than standard windows uninstall feature. Can sort by name or install date, useful when you you want to review what you installed.

MyUninstaller is a handy front-end for add/remove, but a full-scope uninstaller must monitor a program at the time when it is installed. MyUninstaller doesn't do that.
I need to update my earlier list of full-scope uninstallers.
AFIK, the only uninstall programs that monitor registry & system changes during install are...
Total Uninstall
Ashampoo Uninstall
Tenebril Uninstall
Zsoft
Trash It
Of those listed, Zsoft is free. In addition to the paid version of Total Uninstall, there is also an older/free version of Total Uninstall.

What the hell are you people talking about?
This is the best damn "standard" uninstaller program I've ever seen, and BOY have I tried them all.
Total Uninstall is the best "real" uninstaller program out there.

Well, I LIKE it. I have Total Uninstaller to use for things I install on my own computer, but this is great for when I have to clean up somebody else's computer, and I have no idea what some of the crap in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS list really is. Some installed malware really doesn't leave you with a lot of clear information, even when there is an program uninstaller listed.
shagger1 reviewed v1.34 on Mar 29, 2006
Kind of useless-dont really need it as windows already has one? Just need a good registry cleaner.

If it had an uninstaller I would give it a 4 maybe 5.

I rated MyUninstaller a *4* because it doesn't promise to do more than it actually does; and what it does, it does fairly well. Let me explain. Basically, MyUninstaller doesn't do the uninstall job any better than can be done by Control Panel's Add/Remove. Namely, MyUninstaller uses a given program's own uninstall routine in order to uninstall it -- the SAME uninstall routine that is used by Add/Remove.
Accordingly, MyUninstaller can't effectively uninstall programs that lack their own uninstall routines. The reason is because MyUninstaller does not record the registry & system changes which are made by programs at the time they are installed.
AFIK, the only uninstall programs that DO monitor & record registry & system changes are: Total Uninstall, Ashampoo Uninstall, Tenebril Uninstall, and Tras***. Since they record those changes, these 4 programs can reverse them when uninstalling a program, even if that program lacks its own uninstall routine. AFIK, MyUninstaller can't do that.

httpd, I don't think that's a bug, but developer confusion on whether to uninstall the old app first (w/reboot) before installing the next version. Given the insanely high-prices of other uninstallers, MyUninstaller does most of what they do (for free). And yes, I hate that argument.
Does anyone know of a good uninstaller for $30 or less? I'm looking. Total Uninstall is nice, but I had to use MyUninstaller to uninstall it! (PS: Thanks for the additional info above, bellgamin.)

I still wish it allowed for direct editing, and opening the keys in Regedit is an pretty lame and inconvenient alternative.
I found a pretty serious bug where certain entries show totally incorrect information. Not good.
[Edit: This is a bug. I'm talking about, for example, one application being shown with the uninstaller path and icon of a totally different application, even though the information is correct in the registry.]
MyUninstaller also has no built-in confirmation (for those stupid uninstallers that don't confirm on their own).
[Edit: I'm just talking about a simple dialog that said, essentially, "You're about to launch the uninstaller for [SOME PROGRAM], do you really want to, idiot?" And YES, I realize that MyUninstaller is not an actual "uninstaller" utility. It basically just reads the friggin registry, for crying out loud.]
Bah, it's just not very good at all.

Apps like MyUninstaller give freeware a good name. The feature additions and enhancements from 1.20 to 1.30 make this a must-have on your desktop.
aalaap reviewed v1.20 on Jul 20, 2004
This is nice, but I can't select the 20-odd Windows hotfix uninstall entries at once and delete them. I have to delete each one separately. Secondly, the DEL key doesn't work. For an app that's out of beta, I think these are very big shortcomings. Other than that, its a nice app. I just reviewed ArezStudio, and trust me, anything smells better than that.
