Publisher's Description
RAMBoss is a small, yet effective utility for freeing up system RAM (Random Access Memory) on Windows 9x/Me systems. Also should work on other systems such as Windows 2000/XP.

ramboss is one of the best ram 'optimizers' we have today, for those are using Win98, ME and NT(like).
it takes 0.06% CPU, using taskinfo with refresh interval = 1/2 secs and LT CPU% = 9 refreshes. this prog compares to RAMPage, using 0.06~0.08%(when not using NT(like)). other 'optimizers' take about 1~2% CPU, and they can take more, if you turn on those 'complex' graphics; btw, why do they exist, if a normal user does not understand what is 'real memory', 'virtual memory', 'swap' or whatelse?
of couse, user should concern with a fixed or not swap file, cache size and other settings to receive all benefits, before trying to use RAMBoss, RAMPage or whatelse.

pointless. freeing ram is not a good thing, it's a bad thing because you waste time and cpu cycles swapping memory back and forth when you don't need to. I know it "feels" good to see that free ram available but your system is faster if you keep stuff in ram instead of out of it. when the os decides it needs ram it will swap anyways

Crashes when I try to execute it on my freshly installed Windows 2000 Professional.

I trialed this program along with a lot of other similar encryption tools, including zip utilities.
It is an excellent, no-nonsense Explorer type interface tool that will encypt files, folders, and directory trees.
It will also produce self-extracting files from files, folders, or directory trees. Something few other utilities do readily.
Excellent!
