Publisher's Description

RansomAway prevents the Petia Ransomware from attacking. It has been discovered that the Petya Ransomware checks for a read-only file, C:\Windows\perfc.dat, and if it finds it, it wont run the encryption side of the software. One of ways to fight Ransomware is to 'immune' a PC against it. That is what RansomAway does. This tool creates a dummy read-only file by that name that makes Petia think the PC was already being attacked.

Pros: No installation reuqired. Just download and run

Cons: Someone asked about the size forgetting its a portable app meaning that every win32 library is embedded in a single exe and with the nice graphic layout and the branding 4mb makes perfect sense

Bottom Line: Works perfectly. 100% virus free. Does the job.

Pros: No Pros as Cons have made this.

Cons: Why would a person need this when they can make the file themselves and mark it read only ???????

Bottom Line: 4.8 megs to make a tiny file something is drastically wrong here. !
