I am using Rising Antivirus 2009 International Free. One of the best ones out there. I did a test on 500 malware pest on this program caught them all either clean the virus or delete it. If configured correctly you have one tough cookie there!

To XeNdO: As for the size of the map, that is to be expected, ones installed it will update the program...database adn such. So with every update new data gets added, plain and simple. :)

As for your GUI glitches, it might(And i repeat MIGHT) be because of your widescreen. I use a 19 inch and the GUI looks perfectly normal to me. So because the GUI looks weird to you does not make it Buggy, it is far from it. You have problems with the GUI, others do not, so it is not Rising.

As for the use of resources, it is also definitely not the worst. IMO far from it.

I have been using this beauty for several months now and i never regretted it. It has saved me a lot of times from a lot of nasty things. And none of those warnings turned out to be False positives.

As far as i am concerned Rising AV is a Top class AV.

too big (bloated?) this is a big install file (>54mbs) and uses >150mbs on hdd. *MUCH* bigger than AVG, AntiVir or even Comodo. the interface has mis-aligned components on my widescreen display making some elements invisible/unusable and some buttons unclickable. i was unable give it a thorough shake-down due to the shortcomings in the interface. so, buggy interface combined with hdd size and resource usage earn it the low rating. (not lowest because it may be an effective a-v prog just not usable)

Black, Vista look alike interface, a lot of functions which are hard to find even in premium products - boot time scan, mail scanner, rootkit detection, script blocking, file shredder and etc., no boring nag screens, quick updates, high detection rate, no false positives.

Definitely, one of the best antivirus products.

A good antivirus, with proatctive defense and antispyware and antirookit modules.
It' s not light, it needs too much RAM.
You may give a try, it's updated frequently and above all it's free:)
