Server Nanny is a server monitoring system that runs as a service on Windows. Configuration is via a seperate user friendly GUI application. The monitoring engine is fully multithreaded with concurrent thread limiting to ensure the server is not overloaded even with a large number of monitors. Some of the monitors it provides include ping, DNS, reverse DNS, DNS MX, TCP port connect, TCP port connect w/ response analyze, windows service, disk space, HTTP/S response code, HTTP/S response content, MS SQL, MySQL, script and executable. When a fault occurs you can be alerted by sound, email, net send, script, and executable. It can also perform actions to attempt to correct the fault, these include restart/shutdown server, start/stop/restart windows service, script, and executable. Some other features are monitor dependencies, global maintenance window, and device maintenance window.
