ServiceMonitor is designed to monitor services running on Microsoft Windows-based servers and workstations within an Active Directory environment to provide alerts when a change to a service state is detected. Unlike most other service monitoring applications, it does not just watch designated services, it actively monitors every service on the remote computers. Because it monitors all services, not only can it be used as an early warning for potential problems, but it can also be used to detect many forms of system intrusions. Note that ServiceMonitor is designed to operate only within an Active Directory Domain.
