Publisher's Description
Slitheris is a new highly advanced network scanner capable of scanning 100 network devices in about 5 minutes. Most IP scanners detect the basics like the MAC Address, but leave the OS field empty and don't even bother identifying device types. This IP scanner uses standard multi-threaded ping sweeps to find pingable devices, and uses ARP pings and other advanced network discovery technology to detect unpingable hidden devices. Other state-of-the-art features include operating system detection of Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android using proprietary TCP/UDP OS fingerprinting. Slitheris includes experimental network device type detection to find servers, printers, switches, routers, iPhones, iPads and more using heuristic analysis and device type fingerprinting. Network device names are pulled from up to 10 different possible locations on each device, assisting in detecting network device types. It even detects true case-sensitive PC names for Windows computers and servers. Slitheris Network Scanner comes in both freeware and Pro versions to suit the needs of all small, medium and enterprise organizations. Even home users will find Slitheris Network Scanner extremely useful on their own home networks.

Thank you for your feedback CyberDoc999. Sorry to post here again, but since this seemed to be directed at us. We plan to release a Lite version after finishing the next major upgrade, hopefully in 2017. It will be 100% free and still give you a lot more info than other free IP scanners. And our Pro version will always be free for up to 50 network devices, so it's generally free for home use or very small networks, which is where we'd assume someone would pay $10 for such an app. Our Pro version is and will be targeted to industry pros, including MSPs (Managed Service Providers). With the current version, we believe a $149 base price isn't too much to charge for an easy-to-use IP scanner that gives you better results than all free network scanners on any platform. For what information it scans for, you should even get better results than commercial IP scanners, which there are few. Slitheris is one of the first non-free IP scanners that give these kind of results, with no credentials. We also have exclusive features like estimated year of manufacture so you can get an idea of how old a network device might be. And free lifetime upgrades are currently included at no extra cost, which is a great value.

You would sell a lot more at $10 each
in fact 100 times more... it is good but the price is way too high

Hi, we are the creators of Slitheris and we apologize for the confusion. As of March 2016, we decided to remove the freeware/lite version. We tried it for over 3 months, but users like Cuelebre were either confused or downright thought that because we offer both a Lite and Pro version that we were not allowed to use the word "free" or "freeware", although it gave much better scan results than other free network scanners. This gave our lite/freeware version negative reviews from some. We offered a free version alongside Pro because we hoped it would improve popularity and conversion, but this hasn't been the case. We don't want to keep confusing users and so we had no choice to stop offering the free version. Thanks!

It is true they do have a pro one, but they also have a Freeware version built-in. Basically a 'freemium' model. Still, their free version gives me way better results than the other free ip scanners, so i'm not going to complain. These other scanners like Softperfect, angry ip scanner, advanced ip scanner, they all have ads in them or in the installer for their other products. That's no different from this except komodo's pushing a pro version of it rather than a totally different kind of software. And because of that, they can put money into making their free product better instead of sitting idle like all the others have on their 'free' software. I think you should change your view of this, but that's just my humble opinion
