If you can get by with freeware UltraVNC, you probably wouldn't see the point oif SmartCode. For me, SmartCode is worth every penny.

This program is great and if you need help you can always contact the developer and he is able to work with you.. There are some great new features that are going to be coming out in the future and I look foward to using this great program through out my career.

Very good looking interface, and some advanced features.

Unfortunatelly, with the standard TightVNC or UltraVNC, most users can satisfy their needs, so their is no need to download a 10 Mb file, nor pay for a shareware product.

Hey sbostedor, you couldn't be more wrong about VNCscan - Its almost hard to compare it to SmartCode VNC Manager. SmartCode VNC Manager has tons of options that I never have seen in vncscan. SmartCode VNC Manager has thumbnailing (Excellent for monitoring a lot of servers in one go), scaling, tabbed interface (ala firefox/netcaptor/opera), wake-on-lan, powerful network scanning and a lot more. Who cares how long your software has been around when it can't compare with SmartCodes functionallity, its like saying You should use edlin to edit files since its been around so long.

Please don't pay much attention to a reviewer from VNCScan. He is desperately trying to sell his software, which nobody seems buying. Just try his "the very best" VNCScan, compare it to SmartCode VNC Manager and judge for yourself.

New version, yeah… you added a custom tools and some freak server, which nobody will use, ever…
Keep doing it the same way; it's just better for SmartCode.

Good, but only in a pinch... it runs slow. Too slow for my liking, even on a LAN. If you're going to pay for something like this, then pay for NetOp. it's fast, flexible, allows for total stealth, voice-over capability to where you can actually send a VERBALLY SPOKEN message to a user while they're at their PC... a deployment utility, and some other cool stuff. Middle of the road because it really does work, just not the way I'd like it to.

I use the freewaretool VNC-Client, because I am a student at the 9class. My pocket-money is scarce in the time of something. Therefore I cannot support SmartCode VNC.

While still in beta I find this program very handy and with very good potential to be a great Manager for all our VNC controlled computers. New interesting features are added almost daily now and for me the Thumbnail function is very good when monitoring several computers at once.

Automatic network scanning and active servers auto discovery is one of the main features planed to be implemented in the nearest future.

Great idea, good way to organize connections to many servers and save passwords and settings. It seems like this should be something that should have been included w/ VNC to begin with. Much better than that ridiculous TridiaVNC Pro. I'd like to see this program be able to automatically locate your VNC servers then have you put in the passwords and such for each one that it detects through a quick scan of your local network. And the thumbnails, while an interesting idea, seem pretty useless to me. Particularly if you have VNC set to lock the machine when you close your session.
