I still don't see why I should have trust in this company, no matter how good the program is. It could still be a program setup to collect e-mail addresses. I would trust a company when it has good support (which I clearly did not get) and has a good organisation (forum & downloads on the same server, good background & privacy information). "No time" is no excuse for giving bad service.

I had some problems with this program...... I am running an imap server with the norton poproxy for the virus scanning... this program does not bold well with the norton antivirus running on an imap server now when i did run it using a pop check it works great....if you are on a pop3 server its great if you are on an imap server watch out..... the reason as to why i gave it a three is because 98% of the email user's do pop checks.

I fully agree. I've tested several Spam 'catchers'. I like also K9 and Mailwasher. But the idea to use two 'engines' (bayesian filters and ORDB) to detect unsollicited messages is a really good idea.
However, I keep Mozilla thunderbird with its built-in junk mail system ... I found boring, when checking my mail, to always get an eye on the SPAM detection program (spamoff, k9 etc etc).

SpamOFF is one of the few anti-spam apps that's utilizing a combination of tools within one program, and for me, that's good news. Alone, Bayesian/statistical analysis is very good, DNSBL lists are good, and rules-based features also help. Being able to have a spam db, a virus db, as well as SpamOFF's other methods provide about as secure a barrier as I've seen yet. Best of all, messages can be quarantined outside of the mail client, which eliminates the need to rely on subject/header tagging (but SpamOFF will do that too, if you prefer). Improvements seem to be substantial and frequent, and though this app is still in beta, it works well. Keep an eye on this one.

Well, guys, I don't care about some suspicious sayings about download server for Spamm OFF but I do care about how the program actually works and functions. And I must admit here that I've been using it since the first release and I am very satisfied with what it does. Even more, These guys added Quarantine in the latest version- very impressive and convenient to work with! I would recommend you to pay attention to the program and not to some unrelated thing. Overeall, good work. My rating is 5

Hello,
here is to reply to your comments, Change.
First, on hot.ee download. Do you know what is this? No? This is paid and free hosting provider in Estonia. Since we are based in Estonia, it is just more convenient to host some downloadable (and frequently changed) files on this account. If it is on your spam -list- sorry, we have nothing to do with this. Spam OFF is very popular, bandwidth load is very large, so we had to temporary outsource the file server functions on another server. I guess this explains your concerns.
Now on name. Yes, SpamOff did exist two years ago, never patented. This software is has not been updated for years, so we suggest it is fully OK to use the name and it does not insult anyone.
Now on your forum postings,- sorry, all of your previous accusations seemed at least silly to forum administrator and he did not have time to prove that Astonsoft is not guilty of anything.
Hope I gave sufficient explanation.

Also, the name "Spam off" does already exist (search Google). For the ones interested in case the installation file is now downloadable somewhere else, it was hosted on hot.ee.
